Who's driving to WDW next week?

We will be driving from Raleigh, NC on the Wed. before Thanksgiving. We are leaving in the afternoon around 12 noon. This is the first time in years going this time of year. So, I'm curious about traffic. Who has made the trek the day before T-giving and what was your experience. Tia

A bit later

We are leaving the Saturday after Thanksgiving and plan to go through Atlanta early on Sunday morning when everyone is still asleep.

The news reports are saying that fewer people will be traveling but fewer than the gobs that usually do might not mean too much.

I hope your trip goes well and you have a Magical vacation!

The last time we went this tim of year we went the weekend before T-giving and came home the Sunday after. It took us sooo long to get home. I swear we didn't go above 35-40 mph the entire time. I'm hoping driving down on Wed. there won't be too much traffic.

Have a great trip everyone!

We'll be headed for our stop at JAX Beach from Alexandria, VA on Saturday morning at 6AM SHARP!

I have heard there isn't much road construction on 95 until after Savannah, GA... I'm hoping it'll be cleared up in time for holiday traffic!

We're leaving the Saturday after Thanksgiving to get there early on Sunday. I have to remind DH to watch his speed since it's a holiday weekend.

We are leaving Thanksgiving Day (doing the family thing Wed night) from southern Virginia (60 mi. north of Durham, NC) driving to my DM's in Melbourne, Fl to spend a few days before going to WDW 12/1-4 . Hoping to avoid traffic by traveling Thanksgiving Day. Will head back home on 12/5.

Day After Turkey

Heading down from NYC on Friday afternoon. Will stop somewhere along the way, around Santee SC or once we get into GA. We no longer do the drive in 1 straight shot anymore.(unless DH feels he can do it) We will be heading back home on the 5th.

If you are taking I-75, plan on heavy traffic from Gainesville south. All of the college kids from Gainesville and Tallahassee will be heading to the Orlando area and south that day for their Thanksgiving vacation.

We'll be leaving from West Alabama either the Friday afternoon after Turkey Day or early the next morning. I'm hoping that traffic won't be that bad. Safe travels to everyone. This time next week we will be on our way to Disney World.

definitely look at hotwire for some hotel deals. we were able to secure a hotel room in JAX Beach for 100 bucks off advertised rates elsewhere. The only problem with this of course is that you can't just stop somewhere along the way.
