That is a great deal. These hardly ever go on sale. ...and normally sell for $129.99. BTW, this is a great, fun toy and worth the $$$.....remember that as you are in the BF throng. I haven't seen them on sale BF anywhere else.

Yes, that is the best price I have yet to see! I have been keeping my eyes open, since that is one of the items on my DS's list! I have seen it sold in bundles for around $149-ish.... but I never like any of the games, accessory choices it comes with.
Just want the plain ol DS all by its lonesome!!
I will keep searching, and post if I find anything better than Walmart.
Good luck!!!

I'll add my vote for Walmart. I, too, have been pricing them this year and I don't care for the bundles but Walmart's price is considerably lower than any other that I have seen.

I went to Gamestop to ask the same question recently. I was told that the DS is the old one. It has a weak hinge and can break easily. The two newer models are the DS Lite and the DSi. The DSi also takes pictures and plays MP3s. The DS Lite was suggested for my DD7 who would only use it for the games and not the other things.

I don't even know if they sell the old school DS anymore... We still have one, as it was my older DS's from probably 5yrs or so ago. I think for the younger kiddos the DS lite is the way to go. The DSi seems like an added expense for features only an older child would benefit from... I believe you can upload content as well.

I swear I think I saw a sign at Toys R Us yesterday that had the DS lite listed for $69.00.

The TRU deal was the DS lite with a bundle...you could get the DS lite for $69 but had to get the bundle with it..total $160ish, so not a great deal then if you didn't like what was in the bundle.

Does anyone know if the accessory kit for the DS will work for a DSi? I bought a kit for DS before I've bought the system and now he really wants the i. I can take it back but will give it to him if the items will work with either system.

Dd has the DSi and says it won't work if it's a case and stuff, they are different sizes. She sold her DS lite, but said she's pretty sure it's a different charger, too.

No, they don't sell the original DS anymore, just the DS lite and the DSi. Don't know what that guy was talking about the hinge problem, though, we have 2 ancient ones and they are fine. Only problem is scratched screens, but that was due to the kids, not DS! The DS lite is a lot smaller than the original, though.

The DS lite can also use the Game Boy Advance games and the DSi can not. My DD wants one or the other. The Walmart one is $98 and Target will have the DSi for $169 with games loaded plus a $20 give card and if you spend over $100 you get $10 off. Seems that Target ones will only be blue or white and my DD wants pink so I will probably try for the Walmart one but the thought of that line on Black Friday.
