ICE - for small children?

Hi again!!

I have just been looking at some photos of ICE at Gaylord Palms, and whilst it is beautiful and obviously very clever, is it going to really appeal to two young boys (they'll be 3 and 6)??

They are more into 'doing' than 'seeing' and I couldn't really see that there would be much to actually do, other than look at the sculptures.

Don't get me wrong, if I was visiting on my own, then I would definitely like to see it, but with 2 young boys I am wondering whether they will get bored quickly and if that could spoil the enjoyment for Steve and I??

What do you think??

thanks for replying Wayne and Natalie!

I was surprised no one had been with small ones, as it always sounds as though it is very popular! - Perhaps someone will be going during their Xmas break this year and might post upon their return - that would be great as it would help me decide whether to plan it in for next year or not!!

Many thanks!

Amy I went last year but it was just me & my husband. It is a walk through so you can go at your own pace depending on how your children are enjoying it or not as the case maybe. We did see lots of children when we went so I think they would enjoy it, especially at the end as there is a slide made of ice that they can go on.

I have some pics & info etc in my December 08 trip report, (link in my signature) it's on the last day as we went on the way to the airport.

Thanks for replying Claire Do you know whether the children can go on the slide more than once?? (I have a feeling that one ride would not be enough for my two - and it wouldn't just be the ice having a meltdown, if I have to limit their fun!!)

Ice

Hi

We went to ICE Lastyear.

My 2 DD loved it but they were 8&12, although I think that my mum had the most fun on the ICE slides at the end (You'd think she'd know better at her age!!!)

Just be aware, I know it might sound daft, but it really is FREEZING!!, they so give you thick parker coats but if you do decide to go makesure you have socks, gloves and hats with you.

I think it's one of those things that we did lastyear and enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't do it again for a while.

Hope this helps a littlexx

Ice

We went to the ICE on Wednesday. There was plenty of children. You can go down the slide as many times as you want. Husband went down three times.
Parking is $11.00. A lot of the children were doing Find the Gnomes. They are hidden around the hotel. I think they were ticking them as they found the gnomes.
