Best resort for family of 5?
Hi - Looking to plan a trip for June 2010. We have a 10, 8, and 7 year old. Could someone tell me what you recommend as the best resort hotel to accomodate 5 in a room for the best price? Pool is a must as my kids are fish:-) Thanks!

The Contemporary has some of the largest standard rooms among the Deluxe Resorts, which gives a lot of room for 5 people. Plus their pool has a very nice water slide and they just added a brand new kids splash play area. Also they are the least expensive Monorail Resort.

For a well-priced moderate, Port Orleans-Riverside is a great choice. Their main pool is really fun. You also have the choice of I believe 6 smaller pools throughout the resort and the amenities at Port Orleans-French Quarter. POR is the least expensive location for a family of 5.

It depends on your budget and preferences for location and theming.
Options include: 1. Family suites at All-Star Music. These sleep 6. 2. Some rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. These sleep 5 in a single room with a trundle bed for a small child. 3. Most (not all) deluxe resorts sleep 5 in regular rooms. The Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Yacht & Beach Club and Boardwalk would work. 4. One bedroom DVC units at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Bay Lake Tower. 5. Two bedroom DVC units at other DVC locations.

Also, you might look at the Deluxe rooms at WL - they sleep up to 6 and come with club level amenities:
![]() The Deluxe rooms have now been upgraded to Club Level (Concierge) they sleep 6. The Deluxe Guest Room has a sitting area separated from the bedroom by French doors, additional television, refrigerator with ice machine, coffeemaker, and wet bar WL FAQ thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1710310

You might also look into the cabins at Fort Wilderness - a little more expensive than POR but you get a kitchen and seperate bedroom - sleeps 6 I think. But I am not sure if the pool is as nice as POR.

If you want a moderate price room, then POR-Riverside is your only choice. The AB rooms sleep 5. They have 2 dbls and a troundle bed. The pool is really nice!

My family of 5 has stayed at POR and we love it! It's definitely the cheapest option you have for staying in 1 room. The grounds are lush and gorgeous. It is very beautiful to walk through (especially the mansion section - which you can't stay in with 5) at night when it is all lit up. For as much as we are in the room (just to sleep and shower!), I can't see us ever paying the much higher prices to stay deluxe! Good luck with your decision!
