Upgrade at the port having already used "Kids sail free"...
I was curious how this works, so I figured I'd ask you guys....
Not that I have the means...but I was wondering if you can upgrade for the same amount as everyone else if you've already used Kids sail free? I called cause I was curious how much it was to upgrade from Cat. 4 to Cat. 3...and they said it would be another 5,000+--Yeeks! Will that be the same at the port? Is it even possible to get an upgrade when you're already used the promo. Thanks!

Hey Steph
![]() From what I've read here it looks like the upgrade price does not take into account any discounts at booking (ie: it's the same price for anyone to upgrade regardless of what they paid to book, the only time this isn't true is when someone has ALREADY been given a FREE upgrade, then I think I read that they pay the upgrade price from their ORIGINAL category) anyway, someone ?kcashner? has figured out and put together the typical average cost of an upgrade from and to every category imaginable based on what has been experienced here on the board (I'd link to it but I hate the search feature here, it's dead to me) and it looks like an upgrade at port from category 4 to category 3 is typically around $100/day--so $700 for the likes of us...vedddddy tempting but still probably too rich for my blood.

Kids Sail Free promo will have no impact on your ability to upgrade at the port if there is an upgrade available.
In September we asked about an upgrade from a Cat 6 to a Cat 3 and we were quoted $1700.00. That is total for cabin. We were only 2 people so I did not think it was worth it. If we had 4 persons I may have considered it. Best best is to just get to the port early for a chance to upgrade. MJ
