Christmas Gift for dd is surprise trip to NYC but how to pkg it?
DD (13) would LOVE to go to NYC over Christmas but that's not in the budget. However, just heard that our best friend from England will be in NYC Jan 18 and would love to get together.
I have brought dd a pair of uggs for Xmas and I will buy her a nice warm hat and gloves but I'm trying to think of a way to put this trip under the tree. It was suggested I make a collage of NYC attractions and then cut it up, like a jigsaw, and wrap each piece individually and put on the tree. Any other ideas? Looking for some actual tangible gifts. And as this is a budget thred does anyone have any suggestions of where to stay or eat, that would save us some money? Thanks for all and any help. Angie |

How about doing a "Day out Package" You can include gift cards (or AMEX/VISA/MC) cards.....put in a "ticket" to ice skate at Rockefella Center...maybe print a resturant menu & gift card for lunch/dinner. Pack it all in a neat little bag that she can use while walking around in the city.

Years ago when my ex and I were moving to England, we suprised my sister at Christmas with a gift of a trip to visit us the following summer. We bought a guide book to England, tucked her ticket in it as a book mark, wrapped it up and put it under the tree.
She was a bit puzzled when she opened it to find a guide book but practically fainted when she realized what the book mark was! |

I love the puzzle, but I think the bag idea is practical and fun and useful
