AKL savannah or POLY garden view???
Hi there
Would you rather stay at AKL savannah view or POLY garden view? Why? We have two children that nap so we do spend a portion of our afternoon at our home resort. We have an almost 11 yo also so he needs to be entertained during that time(nap). Which hotel would you pick? Thanks in advance!

if you plan to go to the magic kingdom frequently, i would think that the POLY would be a no-brainer in terms of your child napping-it's just one monorail ride away. driving or getting bussed from MK to AKL could prove to be more of a hassle, though.

My vote would be for the Poly. Several reasons:
1) It's on the monorail, making it easy to get to Magic Kingdom, which will of course be the kids' favorite park! Also makes it easy to come BACK from the Magic Kingdom for naptime! 2) The Polynesian seems a tad more "kid friendly" to me. The pool area is absolutely awesome (with a convenient bar for the adults), the grounds are beautiful. There's a lovely little white sand beach, etc. The lobby has water fountains and tucans and... the Animal Kingdom lodge is WILDLY impressive, but it feels a little "hard" and unchildlike to me. Don't know exactly why. 3) Poly is relatively close to Fort Wilderness, which is a fantastic place to take the kids for an afternoon. Last time I was there, they had pony rides, a little petting zoo, etc. 4) At night, you can go to the Poly beach and watch the Electric Water Parade. It's silly and some might even say tacky, but being a gigantic kid at heart, I love it, and ACTUAL kids seem to too.

I would go with the Polynesian because in my opinion they have the better overall location, more transportation options, bigger guest rooms and a much better theme.

You will not be sorry... Shoot for Samoa/balcony or patio/volcano poolside. This building is very close to pool, beach, & GCH - though the Poly is small enough that there is only "one" long walk - the walk to get on ME for the ride home!

You sound like me. I've switched three times, and now that I'm at the Poly I think we're set. I can't imagine any other resort that would match the advantages of being at Poly.

We started out in Poly then had a few unforeseen bills come up so we switched to POR. From there we went to AKL standard view , then savannah view back to Poly! WHEW! We are finally done!LOL

I'm laughing....I did the same thing....booked a Savannah view at AKL, then decided with 3 kids that the Poly would be a MUCH better fit!! So, I booked a standard room, then turned around and upgraded to the CL...I'm through making changes...I think.

You won't regret your switch to the Poly. We have experience in that category (being in disney with young children....) and you can't beat convenience, especially when you want to go back and forth to your resort. Our kids are now age 6 and we are now spoiled for life because we can't sway away from the resorts that offer us convenience. Our next trip is at the Poly!!
