We always stay at the Radisson...fantastic pool, great staff, fun bar, right across from mcdonald's and next to a diner and an italian restaurant, quarter mile from Budget, free shuttle to the terminal.

I've stayed at only one hotel in Cape Canaveral, and that was at the Residence Inn in a 2-bedroom suite. It's a very nice hotel with a great breakfast, and only the Country Inn and Suites next door is closer to the port.

We have 3 kids and used the Hampton Inn. When the Country Inn and Suites opened we tried it... now we stay there. The "kids room" is an especially nice touch.

Country Inns and Suites, " TOP SHELF " in my book.Would not stay any other place. And if you do stay there ask for the 4th floor rooms 400 to 420 {even numbered rooms} , you can see the port and the ships coming in that morning. HAPPY SAILING.

The three closest hotels to the port are the Radisson, the Marriott Residence Inn and the Country Inn and Suites. There are many other hotels in the area but these are the three closest.

We have stayed at both the Residence Inn and the Radisson. We prefer the Residence Inn. The Residence Inn and the County Inn and Suites are both around the same age (just a few years old). MRI has all suites, great staff, nice pool, full kitchens in all the rooms and a complimentary hot buffet breakfast included in your rate.

You could also find a great price on a hotel by using Priceline. We once got the Doubletree Suites for only $40 a night on Priceline.

Everyone has their favorites and there is no right or wrong answer.

LOL, I only posted the popcorn icon to indicate I'm patiently waiting for the opinions on hotels as we too are wanting to know where to stay when we arrive the day before our cruise next year. Glad to have several recomendations to choose from now.

I'll throw another vote in for the radisson, for the reasons mentioned above. Great grounds, great rooms, and staff. Restaurant next door (zachary's) is flat out fantastic.

If you want pics of the grounds and the 2 room jacuzzi suite, they are in our trip report, Just click on the link in my sig.

Ditto. We like the Residence Inn. Additonally, if you have a car, they will allow you to park there during your cruise for no additional charge. They offer a shuttle (outsourced to another company). It picks you up from there at 10 and takes you to the port. I think it is $6 pp roundtrip / $3 pp each way.

Three of some of my top manager favorites are the above - Joe P at the Radisson, Sarah O'shea with MRI and Bud Burch with CI&S - all 3 will go over the edge for their guest - I have never ever had a problem asking for help for guest or non guest if I felt they could help me.

I didn't know that popcorn icon stood for maybe a heated conversations - I always thought it was in anticipation of something good coming. Oh well you can see how often I get into a heated conversation :-))

I would recommend Residence Inn. It is in an awesome location and really close to the Thai Thai restaurant and the port, only about a mile. The hotel was great, staff friendly, and rooms very clean. The free continental breakfast was a cut above the usual cold cereal, toast and pre-boiled eggs, and included fresh make-it-yourself waffles, hot scrambled eggs, danish pastries and very good hot coffee, in addition to the usual breakfast bar items. The only negative was the very uncomfortable sofa in the living room (almost impossible to sit in without a backache). The beds were extremely comfortable (we even tried to find the manufacturers tags) , and the bathrooms had plenty of hot water and good pressure. The suite had plenty of room for 6 of us. Free cruise parking and cheap shuttle to the port. Definitely recommended!!

I didn't think the popcorn smilie meant anything bad either.

We're staying at the Radisson for 1 night next week before our Thanksgiving Wonder cruise!
