Buying Baby items at Disney?

We are going to be at SSR for 10 days in December. Besides the fact that it will be our DD first Disney trip at 10 months old, I am wondering what I need to pack for those 10 days. We don't plan on going off property and I was wondering if I need to pack enough diapers for those 10 days. That is a lot of diapers taking up room in my luggage. But is there anywhere on property to buy diapers? What about baby food? I was trying so hard this past month to get my LO eating solid foods, and even though she can eat little pieces of food, there is no way she would survive the trip eating like that. We are so excited and I just want to make sure I pack what I need and not what I can get somewhere. I was told that there is a Walmart about 10 minutes away from SSR, should I be planning a trip to get baby items?

The baby centers in the park sell baby supplies like diapers, wipes and food. They are pretty pricey, and have a limited selection. The resorts also have some limited selection of supplies in their gift shops too.

We had Garden Grocer do a delivery to our room at SSR. No problems and they have all the baby items you'll need. They also sell everything you need there at the resort and in the parks. And, you can ship a box of items to the resort a few days before you arrive as well.

My DD was 18 months, so I didn't need as much as you, but I did pack my own diapers. Then at the end of the trip, I had that space in my luggage for the souvies we brought home!!

If you're planning on buying it onsite... you're going to spend a fortune! And I found the selection to ve VERY limited!

You can do several things....

Place an order through Garden Grocer for diapers, baby food, etc. They'll deliver it to your resort and prices are typical grocery store prices

Ship a box ahead of time of all your baby needs. THe resort will hold if for you and just pick it up when you check in.

Just pack it all and take it with you. You can shove diapers all over a suitcase...you don't need to keep them in their neat little package. It's amazing how many you can squeeze in. And any extra room you have will be useful to pack souveniers on your trip home.

Don't forget swim diapers, baby sunscrees, infant tylenol, etc. All these items are beyond expensive onsite!

We took our 11 month olds in October, and I totally agree that you should have the diapers sent. You could either ship them yourself from home, or use a grocery service. Way too expensive to buy onsite and the extra baggage charges are too much when you fly.

In terms of baby food, the same thing. Send it ahead. I really like the baby foods that come in pouches (like Plum Organics or Sprout) because they're easier to pack and deal with than jars. Also, we used the Take and Toss cups/bowls/spoons, which were pretty handy.

My two were also pretty good at self feeding, so we could order a grilled cheese and then just cut it up into little squares. The mac&cheese is also really soft (although the noodles can be big), so we could order that at some places and feed the boys that. Applesauce is really easy to find around the world.

I'm not going to lie, they didn't eat nearly as diverse of a menu as they do at home. We mixed fruit/veggie purees into plain yogurt and oatmeal for breakfast and snacks, but lunch/dinner were mostly some form of grilled cheese (or quesadilla) or decontructed turkey sandwich or something like that.

I packed all of it, and had some room for the stuff we bought on the way home. I put diapers here & there, wherever they'd fit. This year I think I'll keep one pack "whole" because they are much more compressed that way.

I did look at ordering from Garden Grocer, but in the end when I finally decided what I wanted, they were overbooked for the first few days of the trip, and getting things on day 3 (of 7) seemed dumb, so I just packed it all. I took 2 jars of food per day, take & toss spoons that I didn't care if we left behind by mistake, a few containers of puffs, and about 5 sippy cups that I washed out at night (for water). Diapers, bibsters. Tylenol. I didn't take much more.

I took it all with me, too.

Like others said, more room for taking stuff home.

My DS turned 10 mos on the trip and while I did take a few jars of baby food just in case, I ended up taking them home with me. He was fine eating off my plate.

I used Garden Grocer- was easy and they'll even get things not on the website if you call.

PS - Don't forget the Cheerios! They are not sold on property. Also, don't forget to pack a few swim diapers. I just saw some on super clearance at our Target this week.
