Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time

I've never been to either and found reservations for both. The one for 50s Prime Time is at 4:20 pm and the Sci-Fi is at 8:15 pm. Which would you chose and why? I love a really good burger and milkshake, so I'm leaning towards Sci-Fi, but it seems to get mixed reviews. I don't know if 50s Prime Time would appeal to my nephews (ages 7 & 3). If I go with the late dinner option it would just be for me and my oldest nephew as my mom would eat earlier (CS) with the younger one. My oldest nephew's favorite park is DHS so I thought it would be really cool for him to see it pretty much empty after dinner. Help me decide!!!

Thanks so much,
Aimee

The food to me is ok at both places.....
It's the atmosphere...

SciFi you sit in cars at a drive-in and watch old movie clips. You will have hardly any interaction with those in your dining party. We had a party of 4, 2sat in the front seat and 2 in the back seat.

PT, mom's in the kitchen making lunch/dinner and the CM's are your aunt or uncle. You can get some really funny CM's who interact with you.
If I had to pick one, I would go w. PT50"s
Did you look at the menu's?

50's.

better food
not as dark
whole family can face each other at the table
waiter/waitress is great if you get a good one who is in character
food is so much better as are the milkshakes.

50's was one of the best meals of our May trip. The server was fun and the food was great!

I've looked at the menus, and am not seeing anything that interests me at 50's Prime Time. What would you recommend there? Since the Sci-Fi reservation is so late, it would only be for me and my oldest nephew, so seating wouldn't be a problem. Are the burgers edible at Sci-Fi or are they gross?

Fried chicken dinner - YUM!!

Next month, we're actually going to both - Sci Fi for lunch and 50s for dinner.

They're on their lunch menu, but I've read many posts on here that you can also order them for dinner, you just have to ask.

They both have cool atmosphere, and the food is okay. For kids though I have to go with Sci-fi. I just don't think kids under 12 will think the CM's will be that funny at 50's. And who does not like eating in a car.

We've done both. Food is better at 50's--the pot roast is pretty awesome. As for atmosphere, I think kids will definitely like the Sci-Fi better, although my niece and nephew did like 50's.

The food is better at prime time but if your kids are shy at all they may not like the waitresses

The burgers at Sci-Fi are fantastic!!!!! Honestly I love both of these restaurants but it sounds as if you really want to go to Sci-Fi. I say go for it!!! The theming is great, and, I think, they have the best milkshakes on WDW property!

Disney Studios is good for some unique themed TS restaurants and Sci-Fi and Prime Time are two of them. The food is good... but no wow factor. We have found service to be a key factor to your enjoyment at both. Their both hit and miss in the consistency.

We visit and dine at Disney as a family. We also select early dining times so we are assured the kids will be able to enjoy their meal. In your case we would select the earlier dining time.

To think outside of DS you can always take a short boat ride down to the Boardwalk/Epcot Resorts and consider one of the TS offerings (BC/YC/BWI/Boardwalk/Dolphin).

I like both, but I like Sci Fi better. We do lunch there though, so I would go with 50s for dinner. Is there anyway you can do lunch at Sci fi and dinner at 50s?
