Discounted AP Passes?

I am seriously thinking that DH and I are going to get AP's for 2010, since we will be there 2 full weeks, one in January, one in October. Is there anywhere to get discounted AP passes? Either buy ahead or purchase in/near Disney?

No AP discounts per se.

BUT-

There is a way to buy AP's for Disney World and still get a "discount."
Its easy, but requires a few "steps" to accomplish.

Here's the deal:

First, find the absolute best deal you can on a multi-day MYW ticket from a reputable WDW ticket discounter:
-----------------------------------------------------
Here are some popular, reliable links for info and/or tickets:

http://www.mousesavers.com

http://www.undercovertourist.com

http://www.ticketmania.com

http://www.mapleleaftickets.com

And, AAA travel offices can often be a good source.
-----------------------------------------------------

Buy your MYW ticket from the discounter.
(Likely the best deal will be on a ticket with a larger number of days on it.)

When you get to WDW, USE your discounted ticket to go into a THEME PARK at least one day.

THEN, go to any Guest Relations or Ticket Window at the park, TTC, or DTD.

Upgrade to an AP.

Since you have USED a day of your discounted ticket, you will receive the CURRENT GATE PRICE when you trade in your discounted ticket.

So...

You will get to "keep the discount" you got on the MYW ticket, but you will then be buying an AP as if you had paid full current gate price for the MYW you are trading-in.

Slick and legal.

Drat! I thought not! Oh well, we just might take the plunge anyway! We have 8 days on no-expiration tix now, but that wouldn't be enough for both weeks anyway! Thanks Robo!

It is also possible at some AAA offices to purchase a discounted AP Exchange Voucher. This would then have to be activated at a ticket window and the expiration would be one year from date of activation.

AAA (the Auto Club) is actually operated regionally. Not all branches offer the same kind of tickets.

There is a branch of AAA called "AAA South" that serves
Florida, Georgia, Middle & West Tennessee, and Puerto Rico.

If you go to their offices, they have WDW AP's (Florida Resident, and NON-Florida Resident) at a discount.

I don't think they can MAIL them, so this would work if you were driving to WDW and could make a stop along the way.

The price that they listed back on 8/06/08 on the Adult NON-Florida Resident AP was $445.95 (WDW Gate Price at that time was $469.)
