Whats up with "light on" rides - The DIS Discussion Forums

I have seen numerous youtubes of rides with the lights on...I would NOT be happy if I rode RnR,ToT,SpaM, or Dinosaur with the lights on. I guess if I had been a million times...and would be going back a million times...but come on..I am on 4...i dont want to see it. Just wondering why this is...are they just testing...is someone affraid of the dark...what gives?

Yes. Test or service mode.
Chance of you being on a dark ride with the lights on is very, very slim.

If that happens, you can request a "re-ride" from the unload CM's.

A lot of times what happens is that a ride breaks down whiel people are on it. They need to cycle through to get everyone off, but at the same time, they have their repairmen inside fixing whatever has happened (usually something minor, which is why they don't actually stop the ride entirely). If someone happens to be on a ride when this happens, many of them thinkg "wow, what a great chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at things" and film the experience.
