New Years Eve plans

I searched and could not find a thread regarding New Years Eve plans...if there is one already I'm sorry!
We are thinking we will go into the park for the first half of the day, (I wonder if early entry is available that day....that would be a good day to use it I think) then because we both really don't like sardine type crowds, are going to leave. We want to do a nice dinner, or something else special, then just watch the fireworks from the entrance.... I don't know if we should attempt getting back into the park for a later dinner at BB...or pick one of the hotel restaurants...thinking Hookes Pointe, or maybe Rainforest cafe, Ralph Brennans....?? I can't find info anywhere on any special events going on at either any of the hotels, or the restaurants in DTD.
Anyone have any info? Suggestions? What has happened in previous years? past experiences are welcome!!
Last year the fog was so thick you literally could not see any of the fireworks at all it was quite surreal...I hope this does not happen again! We just had a quiet dinner earlier, and the whole thing was really low key and not too exciting...I want to try and plan something a bit more special for this year. TIA!

Well I work that day until 3 so while we are coming that weekend I don't think we will make it on NYE. So, we don't have any plans just yet. Have fun, maybe we will see you later that weekend.

APs expired 1-3-2010, the girls are still good until 2-6-2010 but we have no plans for a visit before they expire. No plans for our next visit, it will be 2011 or 2012 before we head back. We've had fun DLR/DCA, we will miss you while we are gone. We took 14 trips from July 07-July 08 and around 16 from Jan 09-Jan 10.

If you leave Dlsneyland earlier in the day, you need to keep in mind the very real knowledge that you may not get back in. NYE is one of (if not THE) busiest days of the year at Disneyland. It almost always reaches capacity at some point.

I would be willing to bet the restaurants in DtD will have various special events. You could check with them.

DCA does not (historically) reach capacity. You could go there if DL fills up.

There are all sorts of parties / special events throughout Orange County A Google search should find you various listings.

Hope these ideas help,
Dreams

yes, when we leave it would be because the crowds are just too much, so would not try to go back.... I'm really torn about this whole thing. Aside from the fact that staying up past midnight is incredibley hard for both of us!! getting too old!!

I'm going as well this year. I do agree with the other posts you won't be able to get back in. Lately parks have been really busy so I think it will get sold out. Book your food now just to be safe. We booked Blue Bayou first day it opened. I plan to book lunch as well in Disneyland. We may end up going to Ca if its to insane. I have not been in like 15 years so this shall be interesting.
