I was happy about them doing well on the flight, I was so worried they would be scared. Christian is a ham, I love him.

Arguments, Planet Hollywood, & Epcot

We made it to the bus stop and Abbey had to adjust Hannah’s headband:

Isn’t she a beauty:

It seems Christian was “acting up” on the bus and Josh was in a foul mood by the time we made it to the West Side drop off. Heck we had all been up extremely early and the kids needed to blow off some steam, but Josh was in a mood and he and Christian got into it, Abbey tried to play referee and then they started arguing. The “I am going to leave” statement came out of Josh’s mouth and then I stepped in. I told him that a lot of times a restaurant would not seat you unless the entire party was there. He started to say he didn’t care, I caught the sight of disappointment on Bill’s face and well I lost it .

“Everyone get over here NOW” I stated very loudly right outside Planet Hollywood on the sidewalk. “Bill and I didn’t spend thousands of dollars to have a great family vacation for people to start threatening to leave, we are all going to go into the restaurant TOGETHER, eat and have a great time. I will not tolerate people acting like a two year old.” Josh said he didn’t appreciate me talking to him like that and I told him to "shut up, grow up and start walking toward the restaurant". Not the mother of the year moment, I know. If a look could kill I would have been dead on the sidewalk, but we all marched in silence to the elevator. They sent us upstairs and we were seated.

Christian was seated next to Bill away from Abbey and Josh, after we ordered we told Josh and Abbey to go exploring. Josh took my camera and went picture crazy:

They came back to the table:

The food came:

Me - Cobb Salad:

Abbey - ribs:

Josh - double burger, there really is meat in there somewhere:

Hannah – Spaghetti and meatballs:

Christian and Bill – had New York Strip Steak:

We all enjoyed the food, Hannah got ice cream, Christian got some type of ice cream, and Bill and I shared a cheesecake. Then we left, Abbey and Josh went to smoke, Bill and I took the elevator with the kids, sweet Christian always smiling for me:

I asked for a group shot outside:

Josh and Abbey stopped to smoke and Christian and Hannah ran around a little bit, we started to go towards the bus stop and Hannah yelled “wait” she hopped in the stroller and said “ok we can go now, I'm in my wheelchair” .

Hannah found a Mickey Head at the bus stop:

Now any sane person would have headed back to Pop and went to bed, I thought that is what Josh and Abbey would do but when they found out we were headed to Epcot they wanted to go to. We took the bus back to Pop then got on the Epcot bus. Epcot was open until midnight that night.

There were a lot of ooohhhs and ahhhhhs when they saw this:

We headed to Spaceship Earth and Josh lifted Bill, it went so much better with Josh and me helping Bill then with Amy and me. Josh took his time and made sure Bill was comfortable. Abbey rode with Christian behind us and Josh and Hannah were in front of us. Hannah LOVED the 'great big ball', Christian really liked it too. It was a great first ride.

After that we showed Hannah the pixie dust on the walkway and she was entranced by it. She was so happy and giggly. We saw the wait times board and decided to walk towards Test Track. The wait time was 45 minutes and we said no way, then walked to Mission Space:

The wait time was 5 minutes, so Christian went on the green side and Josh and Abbey went on the orange. We had Hannah and her carriage to keep us occupied:

After their mission to Mars Abbey said her back was bothering her. Josh said it was because she wasn’t pushing the stroller “correctly” . Please, son seriously, she has two children, I think she knows how the heck to push a stroller. Then we went to the Seas Pavilion. Josh and Abbey went to smoke (see a theme here?) and Christian and Hannah checked out the “Mine” birds.

We went into the nonexistent line for Nemo and Friends and Hannah decided she wanted to ride with Bill:

Christian rode with me and Josh and Abbey rode together. Abbey was all smiles:

She kept telling me that night she couldn’t believe how beautiful everything was, she was in awe. After Nemo, we had to calm Hannah down a little, she thought the electric eel was a snake, my xMIL is scared to death of snakes and I think she has influenced Hannah to be the same way. We wanted to see if Crush could talk to us so we headed over there. They took Hannah to see the shark:

Right as we were being let in for Crush, Christian had to go to the bathroom. Josh and Abbey said to go ahead they would catch up. We knew better, once the show started no one was going to be allowed in but we went with Hannah:

That’s Hannah sitting by herself, it was her and 3 little girls from St. Louis. Crush asked Hannah her name and she replied, then Crush asked her if she liked to swim and she got all shy and didn’t talk. It was adorable. We got out and met back up with everyone, then Josh, Abbey, and Bill went to Sunshine Seasons for drinks and we headed to the bus. We got back to the room about 12:30am.

Next installment… we didn’t make it to Magic Kingdom until when?????

That's too bad that a fight had to happen, it's not a family trip without one though! Hopefully the rest of the trip was tension free.

Wow, can't believe you guys went to Epcot until midnight on your arrival day, you guys are hardcore!

I don't think you out of line one bit! You're still his mother and if wants to act that way, you have to right to respond that way. It all turned out anyway.

It was nice of Josh to help Bill onto SSE! I hope that lasts!

I say 11am to MK, but you did have a VERY full 1st day.

Oh there will be more "discussions" between Josh and me . I kept suggesting they go back to the room and they were all on the Disney arrival high so we kept going. We slept in so it didn't really hurt anything and Hannah loved the "big ball" she asked about riding it again the entire trip.

Thanks for saying that, I know he is almost 21 years old, but he needs to act like an adult and adults don't always get their way as he found out later in the trip. Josh really does care for Bill, he always wants to be the one to transfer him onto rides etc. you will read more about that as the trip goes on.

Wow, I'm tired just reading about your arrival day!

I don't blame you one bit for laying down the law for Josh. After everything you've done, you don't deserve to have your vacation ruined. And this was only day one!

I love how is awe the kids and Abbey were with Epcot. Makes it all worthwhile!

When Josh started with that attitude I could just see our vacation going south and having problems like we did with Amy and I just couldn't go through that again .

Just seeing Abbey and the kids faces when they were looking at things just made me completely happy. It did make it all worth while.

I am 30 years old and I know I still have those bratty moments with my parents, as much as I hate to admit it. Sometimes it's hard for me to remember that they ARE the parents and I AM their child despite the fact that I'm an adult!

It's good that you were able to lay down the law and get everybody into Planet Hollywood to enjoy your first dinner!

I'm impressed that you made it to Epcot and did quite a bit there, but I'm scared to find out when you made it to Magic Kingdom!

Hello Julie!! I am so happy you found out you are having a little , how wonderful!! I can understand being bratty from time to time, but he goes overboard, always has and apparently always will. I on the other hand have learned new ways on how to deal with his actions .

I knew we had two full days and MVMCP day at MK so I wasn't too worried about not getting to MK early. I learned to relax a bit on this trip .

Ooooohhh, arguments are the worst! I'm sorry that had to happen. Trust me, you did the right thing. I would have done the same.

Love that you did Spaceship Earth first thing. I like to do SSE first thing when I go to Epcot. It's a great first ride. It's great that having Josh help get Bill on the ride. I hope he was that helpful throughout. Can't wait to read more.

WOW!! What a fun filled trip so far, except the little argument but thats bound to happen. You sound like me about spending all that money for vacation just to argue, you can do that at home NOT at Disney. Can't wait to read more.

Almost 50 and I still play the spoiled youngest child part. My parents often put me in my place as well.....
