I've stayed at this hotel twice and loved it both times. We always used the shuttle bus but my husband did walk on one of the days and said at a slow walk it took him about 15 mins to get to the park so it is definately do-able but I haven't seen many people doing it.
Re the park tickets, we always got ours within the package and collected them on arrival at the hotel so hopefully someone else will be able to help you with that. Enjoy your break. Kerry

You can buy tickets from Disney shops before you go - saves long queues at the park ticket booths.

Ive never stayed at Dream castle but have stayed at the other 3 hotels on that site and although you could walk it would take quite a while (I would have thought longer than 15mins) and is partly along a main road which i dont think has a pavement
There are free shuttle buses which run regularly You may find dream castle sell the tickets at reception - one of the others did as i remember seeing a sign

we have just returned from here and you will not be disappointed its a lovely hotel. i personally wouldnt walk and the shuttle service is so good and often there is no need to walk. there will be plenty of walking in the park. they sell tickets at reception and i think there the same price as on the doors but no queses. i think they were 34 euros. any questions about the hotel, id be happy to answer.

Hi phantomblob,
Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome you to the DLP DIS board We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1477038, DIS posting guidelines can be found here http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm I've stayed at the 2 hotels next door to the Dream Castle, I also wouldn't walk it - its only 5 minutes or so from the first of the onsite hotels, but as has been said, its a walk along a main road, which will be dark as well, mornings and evenings when you are there.

Many thanks to everyone for their replies.
I think we will just make use of the free the bus like most people. I had thought that if there were lots of people waiting for the bus that it would have been nice to walk it, so thanks for all the good advice. Phantomblob

Hi, we stay at the Explorers and often walk back at night, especially if we are in the Village already. If you walk through the Village and follow the canal to cut across the Santa Fe car park, it's a really pleasant walk and especially helps to work off a large meal! We used to find it took us about 25 minutes and there is pavement all the way plus there are street lights.
