craft with postcards
my sisters love to come visit us at the shore. i'd like to make them something for Christmas with Ocean City NJ postcards and maybe some beach sand. Any ideas. The only thing I can think of is a decoupage snack tray.

You could do a puzzle if they like that sort of thing, you could put magnets on the back of them (buy sheets of magnets at the dollar store), you could upload some of your own pictures then make Tshirts, calendars, coffee mugs, mouse pads or whatever at places like www.artscow.com or www.snapfish.com There are a lot of sites like that to make photo gifts
Good luck!

How about one of those metal stars to hang on the wall? Then you could decopage the postcards on it.

Maybe use a shadowbox frame (the ones that have depth inside them) and you could put in one or more postcards (depending on the size of the frame) and add some shells, starfish, beach tag, those three dimensional stickers in a beach theme...
Here is an example of one from Martha Stewart's website (with a video!) http://www.marthastewart.com/article...n-shadow-boxes Good luck! I really like your idea and think it would be a great gift! ![]() Edited to add, It looks like Martha Stewart makes her own shadowboxes, of course, but they sell them ready made at craft stores! |
