Headed to Cape Canaveral...questions
We are heading to Cape Canaveral in 9 days!!
![]() I have a few questions though, if you all would be so kind as to answer them.1.Where is the closest/best place to go for a day at the beach from the Residence Inn. This will be only the 2nd time my girls have ever seen the ocean/beach and I want to be able to spend the day or evening on the beach with them. 2. Have you stayed at the Residence Inn? If so what type of breakfast do they have available? Also,do they still do the evening "snack" on certain days of the week? 3. Where is the best place near RI to buy Beer/water/Mtn Dews to take onboard with us? 4. Leaving from the Residence Inn..is it difficult to get to the port, as we plan to park our car at the port. what address would I enter in mapquest to get us from Residence inn to the port? Thanks again for your time and patience reading through all this!! ![]() Lisa |

First, I should say that there is an incredibly helpful thread on Port Canaveral on the boards, and I know others have easy access to the link, but if you look for it, you will find it. Among other things, it has the information on the liquor store.
Second, a few thoughts. You will be able to see the port from The Residence Inn (we stay next door), so driving there will be really easy and the Inn can tell you exactly what to do. It's very close. If you drive down the strip away from the port, you will come into Cocoa Beach. You should make a stop at Ron Jon's, which is open 24/7, and have a blast getting beach stuff. The beach is all around and very accessible, so just park and walk on. That's what we did. Have fun! |

If you have a car, drive down A1A and follow signs to the Pier and park in the lot and go to the beach there or travel out to Jetty Park in the port area. I would favor the pier area for beach time, though.
along A1A is ABC liquor which is good for anything harder than wine and beer (they also have agreat selection of wine and beer too but...) - wine and beer can be purchased right in Publix or Winn Dixie which are both located on A1A just up from the RI. Winn Dixie is just past Ron Jons on your right. Have fun! |
