Stew Leonards! Interesting Place.

I made my first trip to Stew Leonards yesterday. What an interesting store. Its 20 miles out of my way, (at least) so its not something I would do very often. I went for a TurDucHen, which I did find, and I picked up a few other things. The items on sale are priced well. Rack of lamb, $7.99, frenched. But if it isn't on sale, it is pricey. I only bought the loss leaders and and then stopped at Walmart on the way home. Cute store, excellent fresh bread. Good prices on produce which really looked wonderful.

I love Stews! I'm assuming you went to Newington? Danbury is my favorite. I try to stay away since I could spend a small fortune there.

I LOVE STEW LEONARDS! I grew up in Danbury and spent so much time there. My family moved away from Connecticut long ago but whenever I get back there, I always have to go to Stew Leonards.

Years ago my DH worked in Connecticut for a while (we live in NJ-two hour commute each way ) and one of the only good things about working there was going to Stew Leonard's. He used to get great cookies there!

I also read on a college-related site and someone posted that Stew Leonard's sends gift baskets. They looked good!

I would love to check it out based on the radio commercials I hear for it on NewsRadio88. Alas, there are none in New Jersey.

We recently got a Fairway Market, and I love that place.

Grew up going to the Danbury store when visitng my aunt that used to live in that area, it was always so exciting as a kid. Loved getting to push all of the buttons to the automated displays. They have the BEST chocolate milk too!

Love going to Stew's the Newington store is about an hour away from my home in western mass so I don't go as often as I would like, but it is a great day trip, I just bring a cooler and I am all set.

Ahhh, Stewie's....my favorite store. I grew up one town over from the Norwalk one and when I go home to visit CT about once a month, I load up my car with groceries. They have the best stuff!!!!

Hi Denise!

What my sister forgot to mention is that our great grandfather would always buy us ice cream with spinkles on the way out. Now everytime we go, we have to get ice cream..it's tradition

I also had to always visit the petting zoo at the Stew's in Danbury.

Just looked it up....it is in Yonkers---just off of 87.

If you are in Bergen County, you aren't that far away. There is one right in Westchester. We used to live in Eastchester and would go there all the time. The best thing was buying a Christmas Tree there because they load it on to the car for you!
