June?

Any idea how bad it will be the 2nd week of June?

I'm used to going in October, and its wonderful. I'm just trying to plan around work(school) and I get out June 9th...is it nuts then? I figured FL schools have at least another week of school left?

Not going to lie...compared to Oct June is busy.
But it's managable. Just use your FP, and EMH's you'll be fine.
June is a great time to get there are rope drop, enjoy the time in the parks till 12-1 when it starts to get busy and hot, then go back to the resort for a dip in the pool, a meal and back to the parks for the evening.

We did June 9-17th this past year and I was prepared for wall to wall people. It really wasn't as bad as what I had expected. It's still crowded but manageable. We stuck with TGM's best parks, did rope drop at least once for each of the 4 parks, took advantage of the MK EMH nights to 1am and beyond (which really cleared out past 11pm).

But it was melt in a puddle hot!!! Seriously, hotter than hot. We drank ALOT of water and took advantage of as many A/C shows as we could!

Our last day was MK on Wed 6/17 and it was ALOT more crowded that the previous Wed at MK was. The Father's Day weekend crowds were starting to show up by then I guess.

It's a great time of year to go and we are hoping to book a bounceback next week to do it again!

We did June 8th-22nd this past summer and had a blast. We noticed a huge spike in crowds between the first week and second week though. We are going back for 1 week this year during the same time. I can not compare it to October but most rides were very manageable. The only ride we experienced large waits for was Toy Story Mania so we grabbed FP and went back later. We were rope droppers though so I don't know if that made the difference for us.

We've been in June 3 times. Yes, it is crowded. Have a good plan, make your ADRs early, take a break, and be prepared for afternoon showers. And boy can it rain.

Have fun planning!!!

We were there 6/6-6/15 this past summer at BC

and I really liked June. Our previous trips were Columbus day 05, Thanksgiving 06 and Jan. marathon 08. I thought the crowds were great. The big payoff for warmer weather was longer park hours. We were able to eat at a TS and still go back to a park. In January parks close too early for that.
As for the weather, I guess you never know. I thought it was very mild for most of the week, although we didn't have a drop of rain the whole time. I figured we would have a shower to cool off in the evening. No luck. When it was hot we justwent inside a building.
If I had my choice I would love to go back in June.

We were in the parks from June 13th-22nd. Lets just say that I will NOT be visiting in June again. The heat was exhausting and too much for all of us. Plus, when there is a
1 1/2 hour wait for It's A Small World, well.............WAY too crowded! We couldn't even walk down the streets at MK. Epcot didn't seem as crowded.

PLUS, don't forget the rain! There is a great chance for rain during the summer months. It poured several times and rained all but one day of our trip.

We went in June last year but it was more towards the end of the month. I know that most schools in the south, including Florida get out in the end of May. June is crowded and hot. With that said, we had a great time! We are use to going in Nov. when the weather is usually great and the crowds are low. But we enjoyed June so much we are going back again next year. You just need to have a good plan. When we wanted to go to a park we got there at opening and left in the afternoon to go swimming. We often returned at night(after relaxing and/or napping we have 2 kids) for the extra magic hours. We had minimal waits on almost everything we wanted to go on. It was a great time! It does rain but often lasts for a short time.

Not as bad as I thought it would be

We went this past June from 6/5-14. We planned it to attend the last 2 Star Wars weekends. I was prepared for elbow to elbow people, but it was not as horrible as I thought it would be. The first weekend was certainly less crowded than the second weekend. The levels felt like a 6-7 for the first weekend, and a level 7-8 by the second weekend. The first part of the week was more manageable from a heat perspective. But by Wed/Thurs, it became very hot starting at 8:30am in the full sun. We rode the big rides early in the morning and used our FP wisely. It was a much slower pace than other trips because of the heat. We got lucky with minimal rain showers. If you need more details, you can read my June trip report.

The morning EMHs at MK was VERY busy. I was used to nobody being there at EMHs from past April/Oct visits, FantasyLand was very busy from 8-9am on Thursday.

We took a swim break every day and the little boys loved it. We avoided the midday crowds when it was soaring hot, and that made things more enjoyable. You really needed a change of clothes midday, because all your clothing is soaked from sweat, including undergarments. We wore hat to keep the sun off and drank tons of liquids. Most of our snack credits went to drinks!!!

Now the big question .... would I do June again??? Well, given the choice, I would not. I like going in great weather with minimal crowds, so our next trip in late April 2010. However, my kids love Star Wars weekends, so we will probably plan on it for early June 2011 (if they still have them).

I would suggest the early in June you can go, the better. Either way, a trip to Disney is a blast, so have fun planning!!!

I've only been in June. The earlier in the month you go, the better. We'll be there June 8th, so here's hoping the crowds are low and the weater is waesome!

I was there June 14 to 20 this year. It was very hot. We didn't get much rain, just one huge t-storm on a night I was visiting friends at Fort Wilderness. Crowds are heavy but you can work around it by getting there early, use fastpass, take an afternoon break, come back in the evening.

we went june of 08 and it wasn't bad at all. the first day it rained for like 10 min and that was it. it was hot but were use to hot in KY so it wasn't so bad. we would get up and do the parks then like 12 or 1 go back and rest and swim. hit the parks again about 5ish and stay till 1am when they closed. the only line we stood in was dumbo and splash mountain, and they were like 10min tops (we did them at night). we even walked on rides like small world and haunted mansion. im on vacation and don't want to get up early, i want to take my time and relax. it worked out well for us, and we are goin back june 9-18 2010 to see darth vader again.

We are just starting to think about a trip the first half of June. Really good to hear the "it was not as horrible as expected" comments. lol
