help for dl paris - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi we go to disney land paris next week Whoop Whoop !!!

.. can anyone tell me if the atm machines will take my visa electron card and likewise the chip and pin places at restaurants and shops etc take visa ELECTRON?????

IIRC, they won't take Electron or Solo cards. You would be better taking a prepaid charge card or cash/travellers cheques.

Visa Electron cards should work in ATM's but I do not have one so cannot confirm 100%

As they require an online check of your balance it is possible that they won't work in the shops/restaurants.

I think most banks have stopped issuing them now.

i juat rang and they said they would but i wasnt convinced that they were listenngto my question and was very poor engilsh speakng agent i shall try again later and speak to hopefully another agent. the website should state what cards they take x

as long as they work in the atms thats fine just so i can draw some money out !!!! cant get it al out before i go see and dont have credit card etc so have to rely in the french letting me use the atms then ! thanks

It is possible that the call centre won't actually know the difference between a Visa Electron and other Visa cards (debit or credit card)

You would need to check with your bank, not with DLP as each Electron card differs. I am pretty sure the Co-Op visa electron won't work as a debit card outside the UK (although I have never tried it as I only got it to use with the Ryan Air flights

)

They should all work in ATM's though.

Your bank wouldn't know if DLP shops/restaurants have offline or online terminals.
