Tips for Disney with a Baby?!

We are going 12/1-12/7. Jacob will be 9 weeks old then! What tips can you offer me? (We also have a 4 and 7 year old).

I know about parent swap. I have a baby sling and bjorn to take?

What about taking him on the low key rides..Nemo, It's a Small World?

Are the baby stations nice? I am a breastfeeding mom and don't mind nursing on a park bench. I will be bringing a bottle of two of pumped milk in case he gets fussy when we do the swap.

We requested a pack n play for the room.

Any other pieces of advice?

The baby centers have private nursing areas. I would keep rides to a minimum with a baby that young. Maybe the slow moving ones like Haunted Mansion and Nemo. Just be sure germ-phobic and hand sanitize. A baby that young could pick up something

Yes have the hand sanitizers! I got both seasonal & H1N1, so he gets the antibodies!

I took my sons on all the rides with no height requirement such as pirates, haunted mansion, nemo, great movie ride, toy story mania (you have to hold them on your lap because it does whip around sort of fast) pooh, snow white, small world, etc. My sons loved all of it. They fell asleep during the dark rides like haunted mansion, spaceship earth, carousel of progress, people mover, etc. I wouldn't keep them off a ride because of germs. That seems a little silly to me, but just my opinion. Take breaks in the baby centers so your kiddo can get some tummy time and crawl around a bit. It will be a great trip. Oh, and my sons loved the parades too. (i took them at ages 5 months, 12 months, 2 and 3 years)

My youngest was supposed to be 3 months when we went, but she was born two weeks late, so she was around 10 weeks.

We went in February, so heat wasn't a problem. I did have to keep her bundled against cold though.

I took a fully reclining stroller for her. I am not personally in favour of infants spending extended time in carseat/travel systems. She was able to stretch out and sleep. I also had my sling.

She went on a few rides with me in the sling and was happy. Often, however, somebody in our group was sitting out and stayed with her. What surprised me was that she did not like the shows (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast). Beauty was far too loud -- I had to take her out. Mermaid has a ton of strobe light effects and it freaked her out (I had to put a blanket over her face until it was over). She liked meeting characters and watching the parades. She slept most of the day.

The Baby Centres are wonderful. It became too cold for me to nurse her on benches, so we made several stops at the Centres. The MK one is very centrally located and is a nice quiet place to get baby out of the hustle and bustle. The changing facilities are better than in the washrooms (not that the washrooms are bad).

The restaurants let me take our stroller in because the baby could not yet sit on her own. A few restaurants had special infant highchairs. They brought me a clean table cloth to drape over the chair before putting her in.

We took our time. No late nights (our 3-year-old was also with us) and afternoon breaks at the hotel.

My daughter was 2 months old for her first Disney trip. The hardest part was the drive back. The drive down wasn't easy, but back was worse. However, she refused all bottles still so that posed a challenge! If you have a good traveller or are flying then your trip will be much easier!

I used a sling. I brought a single stroller that would lay down flat. My other child was barely 3 for this trip. So he walked and did the stroller. While the baby got the sling unless she needed to nap. (My current baby will nap in the sling but not all babies will. At 2 months it may not be an issue but I ran into distractable issues when we went the next time when my daughter was 9 months. For this, I used the sling over the stroller to block out the sights.

I did use the baby care stations when she was 2 months old, but mainly because it was so hot when we went. I didn't use them for the next trip at 9 months old. (I also breastfeed).

My daughter went on any rides that she was allowed. It wasn't a big deal. Babyswap was awsome because the other child got to go on a ride twice in a row that way!

We're going again in a couple months - and my kids will be 6.5, almost 4, 11 months. So Disney with baby can't really be that bad since we've planned another trip with a baby again!

*We don't do afternoon breaks. We find it works best to go for the start and come back to the room when needed - which is around dinner time for us when my oldest was 3 and 3.5 years old. I never worried about hand sanitizers and didn't have a problem. I did have my 3 year old wash his hands frequently. A 2 month old really isn't touching anything.
