As Music Vs POP

We have done AS Music twice now and really like it. Things we llike at AS Music are:
food court
pool games/pool
arcade
transportation was no issue, never really shared a bus (maybe once)
prefered room is close to the food court and busses (don't want to hike after a long day with a toddler)

Ok so if we could get a room for free dining (assuming they do it) at POP. Would you do it or stick with AS Music. How do they compare. I'm so torn. I know we would be happy at AS Music but I also would like to try something new. How do those things compare (food court/pools/arcade/room location and size)\
Thanks!!

We, too have stayed at ASMu a few times and like the pool area and just the resort itself. I think Music is the only one with the pool activities and movie. It's nice to try new resorts though. Sorry I'm not much help.

POP has a few poolside activities and they don’t share buses with any other resorts like sometimes ASMu, ASMo and ASsports do. food court is better organized (IMO).

I've stayed at Pop twice and LOVED it both times. I really loved the colors and the feel of it. But I, too, wanted to try something new, so I tried All Stars Music. I LOVED it too! LOL

Pop doesn't have the pool activities or the movie like All Star Music, but you can get a preferred room close to the busses, etc. It's a great resort. Food court is similar to the All Stars.

We were Pop fans; however, we tried ASMu in September and we will never go back to Pop. Just thought it was quiter and just like the grounds better. The only thing I didn't like as good is the food court. It just need more space and the gift shop is too small too. The morning breakfasts was crazy.

We have stayed at both and much prefer AsMu.
It is quieter and the busses run more frequently and are not always crowded as are the Pop ones. You can also easily walk over to the other All-Stars if you want to try their pools or food court.
Finally, Music has been recently refurbed where Pop is showing wear.

Hey

I would definately choose POP because they have their own buses. They have poolside activities. Great food court. And wonderful rooms. The plus side to it is the buses. At AsMu, they have to share with AsSp. So you would have to stop their before your hotel. Anyways thats my suggestion :-)

POP because DON'T have to share the bus with all the other resorts! When me & my sister stayed ASMu the bus got so crowded it was ridiculous. Plus their poolside bar is nicer there I think, they have some yummy drinks :D

I've stayed at Music and POP.

I think you will like POP if you are looking for a change.

Ive stayed at all the Values and Pop in my opinion is the best.
My reasons are:
The layout at pop is better than Music and Sports (Especially better than music you could have a long walk on your hand)
It has three pools instead of 2, plus it has a kiddie pool and Goofy Water Jets
No room is too far at the Pop Century
It has its own dedicated bus system
It has a twister game you can play
More laundry facilities
WAYyyy more foodcourt options and some more hearty ones like the mom's night out.
They do the hustle, and the jive and its soo much fun.
I prefer the arcade at Pop opposed to ASMu
There is more to look at around Pop
At pop you have the potential to get a good view as lasttime we were in the 50s 3rd floor looking over the water and could see Wishes and Illuminations (not perfectly but it was still magical)
And overall Pop has shorter travel times to all the parks opposed to ASMu

We can't stand Pop cause it's just too big!!! We were at Pop for Free Dining in September 2007. We are big on going to late night EMH. We are night owls and close down the parks and stay in the parks at least 45 minutes after closing.

Every single night, we'd go to the POP bus and find LOOOOONG lines still, while the All-Star lines had already cleared out, it was nuts!!

As I said, this was VERY late each night. 12:45 am leaving from Epcot late EMH. (Epcot closed at midnite)

2:30 am leaving from MK late EMH (MK closed at 2am)

11:45 pm leaving from Studios late EMH (Studios closed at 11pm)

9:30 pm leaving from AK late EMH (AK closed at 9pm).

(We honestly don't know what the lines were at regular closing, as the only time we go to the parks is late EMH).

My DH also stayed there a couple of days in early August of this year. He said there were literally wall to wall people standing vertically in the pool. We just don't like that many people around.

All-Star Music is our favorite Value resort.

The All Star Resorts do not always share. In my expereince they actually each have their own busses far more often than they share. Not only that, but the POP is quite a bit larger than any All Star Resort. So you will have a lot more people on those busses!

I found that mostly true at Magic Kingdom but saw definite sharing for theStudios, Animal Kingdom, and Downtown Disney. Epcot I found to be hit or mss.

Personally even after fantasmic and wishes etc we waited no longer than 10 minutes for busses For POP that is

Again, in my own two stays at the All Stars last year, we had our own busses far more often than they shared. And that was for all of the parks, not just the Magic Kingdom.

Maybe it depends on time of day/time of year/crowd levels. But saying that the All Star Resorts share all of the time, or even most of the time, is not true. In MY experience. Ymmv, but that is true of most resorts.

I'm not sure why the people who like the Pop keep throwing that out like it is the gospel truth. If you don't like the All Stars, fine. But I wish the reasons for liking the Pop did not have to do with spreading misinformation about the All Stars. That seems to happen a lot when people ask for either or info here, and it bothers me.

I have stayed at both the ASMu and Pop and like both of them for different reasons. The ASMu is a little quieter because it is smaller and the atmosphere (in my opinion) is better. It's also a little easier to navigate (because it's smaller). Pop's food court is better because it's more open and there is much more space, especially in the serving area. There are also 3 pools at Pop and there is only two at ASMu, so it's easier to find a less-populated pool at Pop.

I've stayed at both Pop and ASMu three times each and think that the bus service is about the same at both places - expect loooong lines trying to get out of anywhere.

That said, I would say try Pop this time if you can - they're both great resorts, but I would go ahead and try something new since they are similar, but different enough that you will have a completely different experience than at the other.
