Just back!
Just got back from the world Tuesday, had an amazing time despite being sick the first 2 days.
The christmas parade is running at Animal Kingdom, we saw it Sunday and they said it was starting early. Crowds on fri and saturday were CRAZY! More people then when I went in July. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were great- no crowds, walked on all rides... any questions?

What parks were you in on Friday and Saturday? We were in MK on Friday and I thought it was pretty crowded though not as bad as 11/11 (the previous Wednesday). We went to AK on Saturday and that wasn't crowded at all. Sunday at DHS seemed moderately crowded, notwithstanding two fantasmic showings and evening EMH. We left at 3:30 though. I defiitely agree about Monday and Tuesday - both days were empty!

Does anyone think MK crowds are related to Space Mountain re-opening? just food for thought, the locals may have been running in before the holiday crowds show up.

We just got back on Monday and while the tree was not up yet, the garland was.
I actually didn't think the crowds were too bad this weekend. Friday we were at MK for the day and then that night for the Xmas party. We walked right onto almost every ride and the lines for the characters was maybe 10 people deep. Epcot was pretty empty on Saturday. AK wasn't too bad Sunday, though HS Sunday night was a bit crowded due to the two showings of Fantasmic and the extended hours. |

We were at MK on Friday and it was a lot more crowded than I expected (and what was predicated) especially with the shortened hours because of MVMCP that night. It was great first thing in the morning but the crowds just built. It wasn't horrible but definitely more than I thought. Many ride malfunctions so I am sure that didn't help. SM was not open so that wasn't driving the crowds. I think many people just do weekend trips and Friday gets included. Earlier in the week was definitely better.

The garland was actually up on 11/6. We joke that we started our vacation (11/1) with Halloween and ended it with Christmas. LOL

We were at MK on Saturday and it was busy but felt it ws better than our last trip on a sold out MVMCP mid Dec.
We had DVC fastpasses and even w/ those (which are immediate FP line entry) it took an hour and a half for my DS and DH to do Splash Mtn twice and Thunder Canyon once. My toddler was a pill so I personally didn't wait for more than a few rides. Dumbo's line was 40 minutes long around 11am so we didn't get to that. I never even got to the Tea Cup side of the park. I MADE my DS and DH go back to MK after dinner t take pix of the castle. That has GOT to be my favorite look for her hands down. I wish I could have seen it closer than the Poly.

The tree usually does not go up until after the Christmas parade taping. We were there last year during Thanksgiving and it was not up.

We were in EC on Sunday and there was hardly anyone there. We got through most of our rides in a few hours. In fact we took a picture of the soarin sign which had a 15 minute stand by line.
We went to MK Monday morning at opening 9am. Again hardly anyone there, we rode BTM three times, the second two they just allowed us to stay on and not get back in a line. The sign said the standby was 5 minutes, it was much shorter. Space had a 40 minute wait. Everything was pretty much walk on or less then 10 minutes. The hotels were not even close to full. I am sure it will be busy for the Thanksgiving weekend though. We commented we will return the week before the holiday as it was dead. The lack of xmas decorations was very disappointing. Hardly any at EC and only a few of the resorts had them up. MK was the most decorated but figured they did that for MVMCP. |
