You will be fine at both restaurants with those outfits. Artist Point has become our new favourite last night dinner so I'm sure you'll have a great time there.

Below is how we dressed for Cali grill in August. I was suprised to see at least 2 men in shorts, unless you went in swimwear I doubt anything would be said.

I know if you call about the Cali grill they tell you no flip flops and I'm not to sure about jeans, I would wear trousers, your wife's clothes are fine,I know they are pretty strict at Cali grill, but not sure if they enforce it.
At Artist point all the clothes would be fine including flip flops, it's just a case of looking tidy and not in park gear.

I have worn black flip flops to the cali grill. I think it's more the impression you make rather than any individual item. If you're wearing stuff that is ripped/torn, or obviously shabby they may politely ask you to re-dress and come back later (a couple of people on the boards have had this happen).

I wore my flip flops with 3/4 length trousers, a very smart black top, smart cardigan and necklace.

So long as you look smart you'll (almost certainly) be fine. I have seen people in the Cali Grill in shorts and t-shirts with trainers, but it's up to the front desk folk who check you in. I know I would have felt out of place if I had not worn smart stuff.

Hope this helps

Miranda

We went to both in October (fantastic by the way! Make sure you have the cobbler for dessert at Artist Point!). We saw people in shorts in Cali Grill, it kind of annoyed me there is a dress code for a reason!

These comments have been great thanks ever so much!!

As a few of you have said, i agree if there is a dress code why not enforce it.

Thanks for your help.

We did get told about the dress codes specifically no swimwear, no cut off jeans or trousers, no sleeveless tops NO flip flops etc business casual attire accepted and so on BUT when we got to YSH there were all sorts of people there wearing anything they wanted to
What's the point of having a dress code if you don't stick to it
TBH they will say when you book your reservations what's acceptable or not ...and this is just my opinion but... if folks can't be bothered to make the effort they should be refused service just like at restaurants here

I believe the "no sleeveless tops" is referring to men - as in what are called 'wife beater' shirts...
women can of course wear sleeveless tops...

as for flip flops...there are flip flops and there are flop flops...
again, when men wear them - those beach ones - they're not acceptable..

on the other hand, there are flip flops for women that are very fancy and very acceptable...

but in any case, when we were at the cali grill, people were dressed in resort casual- nothing fancy at all...

women in capri cut trousers, men in khaki trousers and a polo shirt..

and yes, we also saw men in shorts....

no one was turned away...

We went to the Cali Grill for my DS and DDIL's ist anniversary in Oct.
We dressed up, but have no idea why. The whole place was a siege of shorts, T shirts not polos, trainers flip flops I think the night we went even bare feet would have been allowed. Kids were running riot. There was yelling shouting and just about everything in between.
It was such an anti climax. The wonderful food was lost in this place which was no better than Mc D's.
