Jan 30th - Feb 6th VS Feb 6th - Feb 13th - The DIS Discussion Forums

I am planning on going to Disney February 6-13 with my family, but now I am second guessing myself as to which week to go. January 30-February 6 has lower crowd levels & a space shuttle is supposed to launch towards the end of the week which would be nice to see. If we changed to the earlier week, we would have to stay at a different resort than planned.

Which week would be better to go - Jan 30 -Feb 6 or Feb 6 - Feb 13? I'm mostly concerned about crowd levels as President's Day is Feb 15.

Thanks to all for your opinions. (PS- would it be incredibly cumbersome to change ressies at this point?)

I would personally leave things as is. I wouldn't move it just to see the space shuttle. Chances are the launch date may change. Also, if you have your heart set on current resort, will you be as happy having to change your resort choice to go the previous week? Since you leave the 13th I don't think the President's Day crowds will affect you too much. That's just my opinion, but good luck with whatever you choose.

I agree with the PP - we are leaving the 12th to come home and I'm sure it will start to get busy over the weekend, and the high season pricing kicks in the night of the 12th. The week OF President's Day is also Mardi Gras so it will be BUSY!!!

Thank you for the advice, We have already booked Feb6th - 13th but everything seems to point towards the crowds the week before being almost half. So i am really thinking about changing.

We are going from 1/30 to 2/6. It is a couple days earlier than we usually go, but we decided to go with these dates to avoid the high crowds related to President's Day and Mardi Gras being the same week this year and also to pay value season prices for the whole trip. We love the first week of February - park waits/crowds were minimal and we had a great time. If you are able to switch with minimal disruption to your plans (ADRs especially) or $, than I would probably change.

Either way, have a great trip!

I would go the earlier time. I have been there for Pres weekend before, and boy is it busy. I am going curently 7-17 of Feb. I am going for a longer time so that I know that I can fit in everything.

We're going Feb 4-10. We were there that time last year and it wasn't busy, so I think you'd be okay to keep your trip the way it is.
