1 thing for your child to notice at WDW

Hi!
We're planning our first trip for next year. Christmas decorations will be up. Our kids will be 10, 8 & 1.5 when we go. If there was 1 thing you'd want your child to notice while at WDW, what would it be at:
Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Hollywood Studios
Animal Kingdom
a resort
a restaurant
Downtown Disney
I'm going to put together my own "scavenger hunt" for the kids to be observant there, and would like some ideas of what to put on there.
Thanks!

There is a walkway on right as you are facing the Castle, it comes out by the bridge to Tomorrow land. Take the walkway and stop to see the wishing well.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but it sounds fun!

I'll check back here when I do.

Here are some of our faves:

* at AK: all of the animals carved in the Tree of Life...it is amazing

* at MK: the Cinderella mosaic as you walk through the castle...beautiful!

* at DHS: the foot/handprints in front of the Chinese Theater

* at Epcot: the snacks and hats around the world

Not to hijack this thread, but we have been in June & Oct this year & we only able to walk thru the castle one time in June. Did we just hit it at show time or is there some renovations going on? TIA

Epcot: look for each of the "Santas" in the various countries

Hollywood Studios: We have seen a Santa Claus who has a wooden cane he says his elves gave him. He does look like Santa Claus and his cane is really cool looking. If you approach him, he will give you one of his business cards which are either red or green and only have his name (Santa Claus) and location (North Pole). We happened upon him sitting on a bench near ToT and he was dressed in red the day before Thanksgiving. He said he was watching everybody to see who was naughty or nice. It was very special.

Magic Kingdom: The Walt Disney statue with Mickey Mouse (right before the castle) or the Roy Disney statue (right before you approach Main Street on a bench with Minnie)

Animal Kingdom: Devine (a person who blends into the trees...she's up on stilts and looks like part of the trees....very cool)

Contemporary Resort: Pinocchio display has hidden Mickey's within the display. It tells you how many there are to find. It is inside the hotel on the floor where BVG is.

Grand Floridian: Gingerbread House

Have Fun!!!!

In Camp Minnie Mickey at AK they have trees for almost every character (mickey, minnie, lilo, lion king, pluto etc) You have to look at all the decorations to try to figure out which character's tree it is. For example Chip and Dale will have nuts hanging on their tree, Lilo has surfboards.

I think this is one of the coolest decorations they do and it would be neat to make it like a scavenger hunt.

I'm actually at BLT now, so I have a correction to the above... The Pinocchio display is not in the Contemporary this year. Instead they have a holiday display where they are selling gingerbread cookies and such. They do have Mickey's in this display but they are not near as well hidden and it is not as ornate. It's not really about the hidden Mickey's at this display like it was the one before. There is a HUGE Mickey wreath on the side of the building that is really pretty. You could have them notice that. Have fun!

At DTD the Lego store has encased displays along the outside of the store with scenes from various countries construced in legos. The one of London has a ringing telephone which you can hear a pretty good distance from the display itself. I think it would be fun on a scavenger hunt to have to find what's ringing. Your kids will have fun looking at all the lego creations in their pursuit of the ringing.

Great question! Lots of ideas for our next trip as well.

It's not holiday themed, but I noticed it for the first time in 10 years at our last visit...

There's a Mickey head outline made from rocks in the bottom of the shark tank at the Living Seas aquarium in Epcot. It's pretty cool... I'll put up a picture later.

My family had a blast this year doing the ABC's of Dinseyworld for a photo book. (DD stated Kindergaten right after our return, so it suited our neds perfectly).

Since your kids are older, it would be a blast for all of them to participate. Yeah the "S's" and "P's" are easy, but try finding a Q or an X!!

It was awesome!!

I can post the list we started with if you want, but a lot of the things, we just found as we were going. It was a lot of fun and forced us to look around a little more.

You could have a contest for the most Unique "X" item, etc.

I'm not sure if it has been said, but a favorite Kid Tip I have received is to look for the Key under the mat at Hollywood Studios Muppet Vision. It is to the right as you enter the building.

We got to wake up Tinkerbell in the MK this past year, and the boys loved it. Be the 1st to go into Tink's treasures (on the right after passing through the castle into FL) and ask a CM if you can wake her. The boys also received a certificate.
