Amika hair straightener $49!!!

Amazon has the amika hair straightener for $49.... marked down 80% off! There are a couple of colors to choose from, but the quantities are extremely limited. It just so happened that my teenage sister was asking for this particular one for Christmas and I happened upon this deal. It is normally a $150-$200 straighter. She is pretty picky about her straighteners so this would make any teenage girl pretty happy com Christmas morning.

The reviews look favorable but I don't know anything about this brand. Anyone else know anything about them? Looks like a great deal!

This isn't a Chi. That is a certain brand too. I don't know much about either, so don't know if this brand is comparable.

My DD is asking for a triple barrel crimper???? Don't know what that is but I guess I can get it at Ulta - according to her.

Chi is a brand of straightener..so it is not the same as the amika that is on sale. I have the amika and I love it and I have really wavy awful hair. It takes half the amount of time that a regular straightener took.

I head the chi is really good too but I believe expensive? I am not too sure about the price though.

Is this good for thin, frizzy hair?

I purchased a purple one on impulse when I saw it on Slickdeals yesterday. Many of the positive reviewers mentioned thick hair. I have the finest, frizziest, dryest hair imagineable. I don't want to damage it further, and just started using biosilk (love it!). Did I make a mistake?

This board is BAD for my budget. I just bought this and I also bought 4 movies yesterday. I need to stop reading this budget board. LOL

I've been really needing to get myself a straightener and I have very thick coarse hair so I'm glad to see that this one works well with my type of hair and that it's 1/3 of the price I was expecting to have to pay for a decent one. Thank you!!!

Do you think that the 1.5 inch straightener is too large for a 13 year old to hold and control? Also, do they have an automatic shut off on the irons? God knows her mind is overloaded with such important stuff that she sometimes forgets stuff!!!

My daughter wants one,the one I got last year Conair stinks. What is the difference between a straightner and a flat iron?
