Your favorite fondue recipes?
We do fondue every year for New Year's but I'm bored with my recipes, I would like to see everything, from sweet, to cheese, to meat - thanks!

You probably have one like this already but this is the only recipe I use...maybe I will get more from this thread!
CHEESE FONDUE 1/2 pound imported Swiss cheese, shredded 1/2 pound Gruyere cheese, shredded 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 garlic clove, peeled 1 cup dry white wine 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon cherry brandy, such as kirsch 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard Pinch nutmeg Assorted dippers In a small bowl, coat the cheeses with cornstarch and set aside. Rub the inside of the ceramic fondue pot with the garlic, then discard. Over medium heat, add the wine and lemon juice and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually stir the cheese into the simmering liquid. Melting the cheese gradually encourages a smooth fondue. Once smooth, stir in cherry brandy, mustard and nutmeg. Arrange an assortment of bite-sized dipping foods on a lazy Susan around fondue pot. Serve with chunks of French and pumpernickel breads. Some other suggestions are Granny Smith apples and blanched vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and asparagus. Spear with fondue forks or wooden skewers, dip, swirl and enjoy! ETA: I also like to use cured meat as dippers...now I want fondue!

We buy the packaged mix at the grocery store and add ingredients to it. Usually more gruyere, some wine, a little spice. It comes out really nice.
We've also made the Melting Pot cheddar cheese recipe(don't have it here but it google-able).

I love Fondue! We haven't made one in a while, thanks for the reminder. I hope to get some recipes from this thread too.
![]() Basic Cheese Fondue Recipe 2 Garlic Cloves, Cut in Half (2 cups) Dry White Wine (1/2 lb) Gruyere Cheese, Shredded (1/2 lb) Emnenthaler Cheese, Shredded (1 tbsp) Lemon Juice (2 tbsp) Flour (3 tbsp) Kirsch (1/2 tsp) Nutmeg (1/2 tsp) Paprika Pepper 1. Rub the garlic inside the fondue pot then discard. 2. Pour the white wine and lemon juice into the pot and turn on the burner. 3. Let the wine and lemon juice warm up without boiling. 4. Reduce heat and add the shredded cheese. 5. With a wooden spoon, mix well and stir regularly. 6. Add remaining ingredients. 7. Add pepper to taste. 8. If the mixture is too hard, add wine. If the mixture is too soft, add cheese. 9. Dip bite size pieces of bread or vegetables. * Number 8 is most important - I usually end up using a whole bottle. No matter what the problem - Add wine!
