Question re Restaurant.com

I was going to try and get some of these, but I do have a question. For example, the place I want says there is a $50 min purchase at the restaurant. Can I use more than one certificate for each purchase (2ea $25 or 5ea $10)?

When ordering these with a coupon code, it seems like it is almost too good to be true. Thanks.

Only 1 certificate can be used per party at 1 time. Be sure to check each rest.'s restrictions - ie $ amount that must be spent, no alcohol included, only good on certain days/times, etc.

The certificates are a great way to save $ - we use them quite a bit.

We just started using restaurants.com a couple of months ago. I just wish there was more restaurants in our area that we enjoy going to. Make sure you read the restrictions of each restaurant before purchasing. They all have different restrictions. Than go and use and think about the money you are saving.

It seems that many of the restaurants have increased their minimums to $50 (used to be $35). At some of these restaurants, it is difficult for two people to spend $50, so be careful there. There is a restaurant in my neighborhood that is a pancake place. The average check is less than $10 and the minimum purchase using a restaurant.com certificate is $50. You would need five people with you to get to the minimum. It doesn't make much sense.

If you know you will spend the minimum (without alcohol) these certificates are a great way to save money.

one word of caution

I have a few of these that are now dead because the restaraunt closed. I reccomend using them only if you are litterally going out the door to the restaraunt!

They have awesome customer service. Just tell them your concern and they'll replace them immediately.

I've used them and they are a good deal. I did just check however and the one we use the most (Sushi) has also changed to $50 min. to use $25 cert. Excluding all beverages. Looks like I'll only be able to use the $10 cert. on $20 min. purchase. When it's just the 3 of us it's a lot of food to get to the $35 amount, nearly impossible to get to $50.

One added benefit is that I know receive emails from the restaurant and we just used one from them a few days ago which was BOGO free on a combo meal. A better deal than using the Restaurant.com certs.

The certs. expire in 1 year except here in Ca.-no expiration date. And you can also request a refund. (change your mind or the restaurant goes out of business). Of course if you are getting them for 90% off (end of month) then you only spent $1 for the $25 one.

Give them a try, they are a good deal.

Thanks!

I had a certificate for a restaurant that changed owners. New owners didn't accept it. I just emailed Restaurant.com and they gave my account a credit for another certificate. The new certificate was good for a year, so I was very pleased with their service.

What I was noticing was that some $25 certificates now cost $15. I guess not that big a deal if you get it at 70% off!

I agree....there are places that we go to that have raised the amounts as well. One that we always got was only $15 before but is now $25, and some are now $35 or $50. The now $25 place my wife and I would go to for lunch by ourselves sometimes and we would have to get an appetizer to just get to the $15 as their lunches were only $4.99. Some of these places they are pretty cheap and even with a family of four would be hard pressed to get to the new limits unless we all got drinks as well as an appitizer and desserty.

Glad it worked out for you!

I just checked in my area and the non-sale price for $25 certs. is still $10. Hope they don't raise it soon as well as having raised the min. purchase.

I agree. They are more than happy to correct the issue for you. In fact, they actually contacted me before I even knew the restaurant was closed.

OP, as others have said, read the restrictions carefully. Some allow take-out while others (most actually) require dine-in only. As long as you read it carefully, you won't have a problem.

I was out of town once in an area I wasn't familiar with and actually wound up at the wrong TGI Friday's (my own fault - I thought I knew where I was going and was mistaken). The Friday's I was in volunteered to honor my certificate anyway!

They also have some internet sites you can use the coupons on.

I had a $50 gift card from Davids Bridal and I used them on 5 - $10 Mrs. Fields gift certificates.

There was no minimum order and Mrs. Fields has cookie cook books for $10 plus 2 dozen mini cookies for $10.

I had to pay shipping which was about $7 each order, but I went through a rewards site and got a percentage back.

I figured these would make great gifts for teachers.

I got one for myself and the others are going to be delivered a couple of days before the childrens' last day, so the cookies will still be fresh
