No reservation avail for brunch or high tea at Palo

Hello,
I was lucky enough to snag a western cruise for this january... And now of course all the Palo brunch and high teas ressies are gone. Do you think it's possible to get one once we're already on the boat?

Thanks!!!

Only about 50% of reservations are available on line in advance. The rest are held by the concierge and held back for reservations after boarding. Go to the location listed for "Palo Reservations" on your Welcome Aboard navigator--usually Rockin Bar D, and there is an excellent chance that you'll be able to make a reservation. If not, ask to be waitlisted--the concierge reservations will go into the general pool at the end of the first day, and people do get calls from the waitlist.

we were able to get a reservation this way for brunch and dinner for a cruise we planned only a couple weeks ahead of time.

They had plenty left.

YAY!!! I'm soooo excited! Thanks so much.
I actually would rather do brunch during DD's nap time than dinner but we'll see if we could get lucky with the ressie.

Don't get your hopes up. A lot of it depends on your cruise and how sold out it is. We spoke to several CMs (some fairly high up) before we left because of a complaint we had about Palo bookings and they said that they can ALL be taken before the cruise even starts. I know some people will disagree, but this was what a CM told us.

When we got on board we got on a waiting list which never got any shorter. We begged an pleaded with them and they finally squeezed us in, and lucky us, half our party got sea sick that day so we had to cancel.

The reservations are not all given out online. We've been told many times both on the phone and onboard that reservations are held for onboard bookings.

In eight cruises, we've never had a problem getting one onboard. Sometimes we've gotten one upon boarding by going right to the desk (usually in Rockin' Bar D) and they have always had available dates and times. Otherwise, we have gone (or called) Palo's and got put on a waitlist. They have always managed to get us in for a reservation.

Also, keep checking online as people cancel and sometimes spots open up.

We were on a western in Jan 2008. We could not get Palo ressies either in advance but once on board we reported to rockin bar d and got dinner and brunch!

Hi, how was the weather during your cruise? We will be on the Magic on Jan 9, 2010. Thanks.

Just to add my experience to the mix...I was able to secure brunch reservations after boarding the ship easily. I had my choice of days and times. I did proceed to the palo booking desk right after boarding, but we had a high boarding number (8) so I'll bet you will be fine.
