I'm pretty sure CMs aren't supposed to give out specific discount info so you may have trouble getting help with this. I do know that CMs get discount rates on Disney cruises but the amount varies widely and there are a lot of blackout dates. Your sister will have access to all the specifics when she starts in January. Hope this helps.

There isn't any official prohibition on discussing discounts, they're not Trade Secrets or anything, lol, it's just an issue of taking the time to look it up.

First and foremost, you must have completed at least three months of continious employment with the company to be eligible for any DCL Discount.

Eligible Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies can book Disney Cruise Line vacations on a Space Available basis. Bookings generally only become available approximately 30 days in advance of the sail date and are only available for selected Dates and Cruise Iteniaries. However, the price is generally between 50%-70% off catalogue prices.

For those Cast Members looking for most definative dates, there are two discount programmes available.

All Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies can receive 10% off Florida Resident rates. They do not have to be Florida Residents to take advantage of this offer.

For those who need a confirmed reservation far in advance for a special occassion, or who would like to reserve the specific stateroom or stateroom category, they can also take advantage of a 15% Discount on Full-Fare Catalogue Rates.

I am glad you say there is nothing official about CMs not being able to mention discounts. At one point a moderator deleted posts on the subject saying Disney did not want that information on the boards. My daughter was unaware of any policy prohibiting discussion (or just mention even) of discounts.

Are Disney College Programmers (or CareerStart) eligible for discounts of Disney Adventures as well?

If there's been a change in policy, it certainly hasn't been communicated to me . It wouldn't really surprise me though, I always seem to be the last one to find out about these things.

I mean, we share these discounts with our Friends and Family, not discussing them would be slightly awkward ("Just be happy you're getting a discount and get on the boat already!")

From what I heard it's about 50% off.Though you have to be 21 to go on a cruise. So depending on how old she is she may not get to use her discount.

You most certainly don't have to be 21 to go on a cruise. As long as you're 18, there shouldn't be an issue.

Now drinking alcholol on a cruise, that's a whole different issue. But if you can pay the fare and are a legal adult, they're certainly not going to deny you passage.

No this wasn't recently - this was probably a couple of years ago - and in fact my comment was something along the lines that my room was 50% off due to the fact my daughter was a CM and staying with me - and of course the room was available etc.

And of course if my daughter is allowing friends and family to use the other guest bedroom discount they have to know what the cost is - since they are the ones paying for it!

Haha, I wasn't really positive one way or the other. It just seems like whenever discounts are being discussed on this board all the posts tend to be somewhat vague so I assumed. Happy to hear otherwise!

Thank you for sharing this. My family loves cruising and as soon as I was accepted to the CS my dad started pestering me about what kind of discount I would get on DCL. We could never afford a Disney cruise because they never discount them enough. I can't wait to tell my dad.

Also, your posts are always so informative and you seem to hit almost every thread. I just wanted to say thanks for all the help glendalais.

Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies are indeed eligible for discounts on the guided vacation experiences provided by Adventures by Disney.

There generally isn't a set percentage discount, but rather specific Cast Member Rates for specific experiences and departure dates. More information is available through internal company sources.

Yes, all Disney Cruise Line discounts do require that the Cast Member or Employee booking the discount be actually sailing on the cruise.

I've got a question about cruises too! I'm doing the CP till August 6th and my mom and I wanted to do a cruise after I finish, would I be able to book it while I'm a CM and go on the cruise when I'm done, or will I have to be a CM to actually go on the cruise at a discount.

If I have to be a CM what do you think my best option is? If I go seasonal, (which I was hoping to do anyways) will I need to work before I go?

I'd be greatful for any insight you guys might have!
