AP Room Question??

My parents are coming with us on our trip in a couple of weeks. We are AP holders and they are not. I booked 2 rooms with our APs and the cast member listed me, my mom, and our 2 kids on one room and dh and my dad on the other. The cm had to do this in order to book both rooms with the AP discount.

My question...when we check in, can we have my parents get keys for one room and we will have keys for the other? Or will we have to divide the keys like the reservation is listed? Am I even making any sense?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you are making sense.

There seems to be a lot of variability in how they do this. I booked two rooms with my AP discount last month and made it clear to the CM that the other room will not have passholders, but we would be paying for both. The CM put their name on the one room and our name on the other, no problem, with both getting the passholder discount.

Another issue where the answer you get depends on who you talk to.

I do think they will issue the keys based on how the guests are listed in the room.

They did this to us also in October. We had connecting rooms, but each room was keyed differently. Normally when we have connecting rooms, our keys generally work on either door. Not in October. We were at Pop and our keys were issues exactly like the reservation, so we had to switch keys in order to have the correct ones, it was a slight pain as me and DH had charging so we kept ours and let the adult kids switch theirs and used the grandkids. We were all legitimate, it's just the way the CM booked the rooms.

If you don't have your tickets on your KTTW cards, you guys can just exchange keys amongst yourselves. Once you have all the cards, just have your mom and husband switch keys.

Thanks for the responses! It sounds like it may all depend on the cm at check in. I hope that we get our requested connecting rooms, because then it would not matter as much.

It didn't occur to me that we could just switch keys! I suppose our park tix will all be separate, so it doesn't matter who has which keys
We don't plan on charging to the room anyway, so it should be easy.

I wish we were at Disney now!!
