When does the AK start their Christmas parade? - The DIS Discussion Forums

We're going to be down there next week til the Sat. after Thanksgiving. Was wondering if AK will have their Christmas parade yet?

It starts on Friday, Nov. 27. You'll just be able to see it.

We were there this weekend & it was the Mickey's Holiday Jammin' Jungle Parade at AK, if that's the parade you're thinking of. Here's a picture from Saturday:

We've got 68 Calendar sites to choose from and not one of them lists the Jingle Jungle Parade until Nov. 27th.

Was it only the Christmas "Jingle Jungle" Parade on last Saturday (Nov. 14)

and it's back to the regular parade now...

or is it the Christmas "Jingle Jungle" Parade every day since, as well?

Well, what do you know about that? Either that was a special sneak preview of the Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade or all of those 68 Calendar sites are wrong.

Well then maybe what I watched on Saturday wasn't the actual holiday parade - I lost my Times Guide so I don't know the actual name...here are a few more pics if that helps identify what they ran on Saturday versus what the real holiday parade is (maybe they just threw some holiday decor on for the weekend!):

OMG that is too funny! Just when you think you have all the right dates...Disney goes and proves us wrong.

Our plan was to try and see it on Friday or Saturday.... looks like we should be just fine.

Any suggestion on best place to view it?

BTW, Santa Goofy is definitely a part of JINGLE JUNGLE PARADE.

Um, this is pretty bad, but I really don't remember the music! I love the bright colors & whimsical floats - and that's what I was paying attention to! But the characters (and humans) definitely had on holiday outfits, and the floats were decorated too. The families they picked to ride in the parade all wore Santa hats too. Maybe it was a practice round?

Doubt that they'd need to practice it after all these years, but, you never know.

I wonder if they ran it so they could tape something for use on the Christmas Parade show (Christmas Morning) on ABC?

If that was the case... once they convert the floats and other units to Christmas, it would be kind of difficult (time consuming) to change back to the regular show, then back to Jingle Jungle, then back to regular again.

Here's a question - do the performers from FOTLK & Nemo also perform in the parades - or do they strictly do their own shows? I could have sworn the girl that played the part of Nemo at the 11am show was also in the parade at 3:45pm, and that a male performer from the 1st FOTLK show was also in the parade.

Wasn't anyone else there on Saturday that can confirm if this was or was not the holiday parade?

Ok I can conform it WAS the holiday parade....just looked at the pics from one of the friends I went with, and the front float banner read "Jingle Jungle Expedition."
