Where dinner only 4 nights Dec

We booked trip this mid Dec 12-16 for my b-day last minute trip, 2 adults. Missed out on free dining but got great rate at POR so very happy. This is our first time w/o renting a car. We may possibly try to purchase the dining plan (1 sit down, 1 counter), I am so lost with this having never done. I'm really wondering mostly where to eat my dinners for sit-down meals. This is our schedule so far but it is open (can u see we don't plan well, usually just wing it especially if it's just DH and myself). Not even sure I can get in anywhere, I want to check that first and then buy the dinner plan, think they're busy in Dec. We don't remember much about the rests in WDW.

Dec 12 - Arrive noon at airport. No plans yet for this day. May go to DTD and enjoy resort, not sure yet. (Possibly may save sit-down for nicer restaurant for b-day!). But open. (Also hoping to squeeze in BW area somewhere but not sure that may be possible but maybe this day). Some of the restaurants on the dining plan in BW correct?
Dec 13 - MVMCP. Plan to stay at resort during day or do DTD but later going to the Party at Magic Kingdom. Where would you suggest to have dinner and what time would you try to make ressies? Any thoughts? Looking for either at MK or monorail resorts. Not sure what is even open on MCMCP. Trying for an early dinner.
Dec 14 - Epcot. Yeah my b-day! Epcot our fav. Want to see the Candlelight Processional. I hear u can do 2 point dinners and see the CP dinner/show, where would you suggest to eat? Not sure I can get in but will try. I think only a few restaurants participating for CP dinner. Am open to other suggestions and other restaurants also. Hoping for a nice day for b-day.
Dec 15 - DHS. Again looking for sit-down meal info. Again can be in DHS or on monorail or even boardwalk? Is it far from the BW?
Thanks for help, I am really lost with this.

If you take the dining plan, you will probably want to try booking restaurants right away - it's entirely possible you will not be able to get any popular restaurants and you will have difficulty finding anything inside the parks at peak mealtimes. For information on what restaurants take the dining plan, this is a link to the official Disney dining plan brochure for the basic plan. Remember, tips are not included at most restaurants.

If you want the Candlelight Processional package, you may be limited to whatever place happens to have openings - it's doubtful at this point you'll get Le Cellier or Coral Reef or Tutto Italia. Peak mealtimes around MK on a MVMCP night are also going to be difficult. You probably need to get on the phone or online ASAP to see what is available. Try the Wave at the Contemporary - it's good, but seems to have slipped notice of most guests who would rather be at Chef Mickey's or Ohana.

Agreed; and on the weekends, DTD will be bustling with locals. Try getting a seat at like RFC on a Sunday night around this time and you will be waiting like 3 hours.

Do try some of the out of the way resorts; or go on the online reservation and start playing with some times and places to see what you get.

I think it is going to be very difficult to get ADR's in, and maybe near, the parks at this point.
I think it is important that you try to get TS reservations now before you commit to the DDP. At this point you may only have an option for distant and non-popular restaurants. See what you can get before you decide on the plan
Good Luck

Thanks, right now it looks like I can't get anything. It's a little crazy that I can't get anything anywhere. I'm doing what u said and not commiting to the DDP. Do people really need to plan many many months in advance for dinner ressies, that's ridiculous. Thanks for the info tho. My DH really wanted to try the DDP but not doing it right now with no place to eat. I wasn't going to rent a car either for first time, now I'm reconsidering. Does anyone get in places if they just go to the door of a restaurant especially with just 2 people?

Yes, many people do have to make ressies way ahead; remember not only did they extend the 4/3 deal which brought a lot of people who might normally stay on-site - you have all the locals taking advantage of getting close to the holiday season with the decorations, etc.

I am staying the week after Thanksgiving and had to wait until 3:00 pm to make my ressies right on the 90 day mark, and still didn't get everything I wanted - but what I got was better than I expected, so I am happy.

DTD is going to be busy on the weekends with shoppers, as well as the restaurants till after Christmas.
