Is there any chance that my DD(13) cn go in the Oceaneer's Lab on the Wonder?
My DD(13) is a young 13 and she doesn't want to go in the teen area, she has no interest in it, she really wants to do the Oceaneer's Lab. Is there any chance shell be allowed to go there with her brother(9)?
Thanks! Edited- Thanks for correcting me, I meant Lab and not club. First cruise and I'm familiar with the terminology.

The Oceaneer's Club is for ages 3 to 7. The Oceaneer's Lab is for ages 8 to 12. If they have room, more than likely she will be allowed in the Lab.

Moving down in the programming is actually easier than moving up. If space is available, kids are generally allowed to move down by one age group if a parent requests it. Moving more than one age group would require a reason such as a developmental delay.
There is no way a teen would be allowed in the Oceaneer's Club, which is for children age 3-7 unless she was there assisting a sibling. There have been a few reports of a teen who went in to stay with a fearful sib being made an "honorary CM" for their help. |

I found they were very flexible. I had a 4.5 year old that I moved up with the 5-7 year olds (he wanted to be with his sister) and an almost 6 year old who wanted to stay with the 3 and 4 year olds a few times (she didn't like making flubber!). They were very accomodating.

The Magic has Ocean Quest for this age - they don't go to the teen club at 13 yet. I think Ocean Quest is for 12 and 13 year olds, and they go to teen club at 14 on the Magic, but I may not have those ages exactly right. I know that I had a 12 year old this summer on the Magic and she went to Ocean Quest.

Our experience on the Magic in Oct -- both of our kids ended up in clubs that were not their age group. My DD (10) ended up going to the Quest (for 11-13), and my DS (7) sent to the Lab (for 8-10).
The first day we were taking them to the kids clubs to look around. DS loved the Lab as soon as he walked in, we talked to the CM's and they let him stay, and lived there the whole cruise. DD didn't like the Lab at all, so DH walked her down to the Quest and talked to the CM. He asked my daughter some questions, talked with DH about how the Quest worked (that she'd be checking herself in and out), and let her in. DH said the CM asked questions mainly to HER, not him, and he liked that. The fact that DH felt comfortable with her in there says a lot. I think the CM's base it on 1) space available in that particular club, 2) the individual child, and 3) parents' comfort level.
