I gave both my sons preschool teachers the same thing last year (small tin with chocolates and a Starbucks gift card....Starbucks is right down the street to the daycare. Only 2 other students got them something....they were very appreciative of the thought and could have cared less about the monetary value. I do think though the aid works just as hard as the teacher, so I wouldn't give different amounts.

Just a fyi, if she is a good, aide your aide does as much (if not more) as the teacher.

AS a past preschool teacher and preschool assistant I will tell you that the assistants work hard too. When I was the assistant most of the gifts I received were the same as the teachers.
Wanted to add that while all gifts were appreciated I will tell you that the gift cards were the best. Over the years you accumulate so many ornaments, mugs and candles.

I would treat them the same. Gift cards are a wonderful choice.

I do the same for the teacher and aide and we also provide a "class gift" of a new game, book, or something else to get them through the winter doldrums.

I do the same for both. I have been in the classroom enough to see that when one is working with the kids, the other is doing admin type things (putting things in back packs, checking the office for things, etc) so they are both working hard all the class time long. I make them both a loaf of holiday bread and put it on a holiday plate with a gift card and a card.

Yes.
Send them both a nice card with a note that says how much you appreciate them, and have your child tell you a few of their favorite moments/activities. Then have your kid color on it and sign their name.
I get boxes of stuff, and tons and tons of gift cards. They are nice, but it is the home made cards that we talk about, appreciate, and keep. |
