6 adults, 2 kids.... what size turkey are you buying?
I'm still buying a 20 pounder!
![]() You figure waste takes some.... people will eat 4 - 12 ounces depending on appetites. We love leftovers...... 20 pounds oughtta do it....

We always get a big one for leftovers. I'd rather eat a cold turkey sandwich on white bread with Hellmans than a piece of warm turkey at Thanksgiving dinner.

I would probably do the same, or get 2 smaller turkeys since they tend to be more tender and juicy than the bigger birds. We like Thanksgiving leftovers so we always make a lot.
If you don't have the oven space for 2 birds you could grill one or fry one or put the second bird in the oven when you take the first out and let that cook while you are eating-then it will be fresh and warm for leftovers later in the evening.

We have 3 adults, and 2 kids. I'm buying an 17 lb deep-fried turkey from a caterer, and still roasting a smaller one.
I always fix too much, but I LOVE the leftovers. |

I have a 21lber in my freezer. Not sure when I will make it. I am not cooking T. dinner this yr so planning on making it sometime over Christmas break.
I am thinking of buying some meal trays and making up my own "frozen turkey dinners". We will see. |

hmm I'm rethinking now.
We are going to be 3 adults and 4 kids. I was going to just do a breast. (as I wanted to hit the parade.) along with a ham. But now I am thinking the leftovers would be nice. And I get a free one. |
