Luggage Tags

Just out of curiosity, do they no longer send you luggage tags for upcoming vacations when you join the DVC and book a vacation? We have luggage tags. This is just the first year we did not get new ones. This is the first year we have ownership in the vacation club, though.

Yes, you can use ME but you must call and register for it with MS>

But, I believe the OP is talking about actual luggage tags (not the yellow ME ones) that you get when you book a Disney package through WDW Travel Co.

We got them for years when we booked through AAA.

The only luggage tags we received from DVC came as part of the "bling" given out during the Doorway to Dreams "Vacation as You Wish" event we went to last February. Other than that, no luggage tags since we booked a reservation through CRO.

Last year when i signed up for Magical Express, they sent me 4 luggage tags. This year, nothing.

I think there is some confusion here between luggage tags and the DME tags that you use to mark your resort for the DME people. Luggage tags are something that is more permanent that you write your home address on and attach to your luggage on a more permanent basis. The DME tags are the yellow strips that you receive just before your trip to put onto your luggage with your name & resort marked on them. They resemble the white tags that airlines use. There's a barcode & it directs the DME people so they know A) to retrieve the bag and B) which resort to send it to and C) Know who gets it.

I don't think that Disney has sent out "real" luggage tags for many, many years. We have some old ones from YEARS ago when they used to use the Mears Shuttle & charge for the service. But I think they stopped sending those out when they started the DME program. They USED TO send 2 of the yellow DME tags per person but cut back to sending only 1 pp last year after all of the airlines started charging for bags. They send the DME tags out about 3-4 weeks before your trip.

Yes, I meant REAL luggage tags. Before we bought the DVC and went (as recent as last Thanksgiving), we got the REAL luggage tags that you attach to your luggage with your name/address/telephone number on them. It makes sense that DVC does not do this as they hope that the owners will take more frequent trips. We have enough tags for every piece of luggage we own and thensome. They sent us one for each trip we took for every person who was taking the trip back before we bought. My DH was concerned that our trip was not finalized since we had not received our luggage tags. I kept telling him that I was sure that this was all part of being an owner now. Besides, we have confirmation letters showing our confirmed trips. We are fine... No need to worry... Thanks!
