How old for Tower of Terror?

How old was your DS or DD when they first rode ToT? Our DS is 4, but over the 40" requirement to ride. I think he is still too young to ride, but my DH disagrees. He is pretty adventurous on rides, but I'm just not sure he is ready for ToT. Maybe b/c I still get scared every time I am waiting in line to ride!

DD10 went at three and loved it. It is still one of her favorite rides. DD6 hasn't been yet and has no interest. It just depends how adventurous your child is.

My son did it on his 5th birthday. He hated it so much he wouldn't ride another ride for 2 days! It was the dark and the ghostly effects. He rode HM at 8 and left bawling. But, he loves coasters. Just not ghosts.

My DS was three and DD was 4 when we rode. Both seemed scared on the ride but wanted to get right back on after we exited .

My youngest was 5 when he rode it the first time, the older one won't go near it.

Wow

Shows how all kids are different. My 7 year old daughter decided she wanted to ride it because lots of her friends did. She truly started having nightmares afterwards she was so scared. She was bawling on the ride. She's 11 and still says she'll never do it again!

The darkness and "ghosts" are the reasons I don't think he is old enough to ride it. He doesn't care for really dark places and he has bad dreams when he sees "scary" things sometimes. He's not a big fan of all the scary Halloween decorations!

He was 2 1/2 last time we were there and he did NOT like Haunted Mansion! Guess we will see how he does at 4!

Uhhh... well I've been on that ride like 5 times. It's pretty scary. There's all these pictures of ghosts and wierd noises and it gets really dark... and you never know when it well drop. But probably at least 11.

My son had just turned 3 the one and only time he rode it. He is 6 and refuses to ride it again (even though I think he would like it now). My daughter, 4, is dying to ride it. I plan to let her in December.

I showed her a pretty good Youtube video of the entire thing...shows the ghosts and everything...just to see if she really wanted to. It made her more excited.

My ds was a few months shy of 4 when we rode it this October. He loves scary rides but I had my doubts about this one. On the third trip up (and back down) he started hyperventilating. when the ride was over he looked at me and said "it's not going to go up again?". I said no. He undid his seatbelt in 2 seconds flat and was hightailing it out to the gift shop at record speeds. When I caught up with him I told him I thought the drops were scary too. He said he wasn't scared and it was fun. When I asked if he wanted to go again he said no!!!

All he talks about since we got back from our trip is going back to Disney but NO tot. It didn't make him not want to ride anything else though. He was so sad he was too small for Everest!

DS is 4 and if he wants to ride it in December when we go, I will let him. But I have a feeling he won't want to do it. I will certainly explain what is happening (big drop) because I wouldn't want him to not know. I don't think the ghost thing will bother him at all.

My kids were both 3 when they went on. And each got a TOWER OF TERROR t-shirt as a prize. They are now 13 and 11 and love it!

DD got a ToT pin when she rode it. DD6 just got her Splash Mountain pin, but she doesn't ever want to go on it again. She doesn't like drops or dark, so it might be a while before she rides ToT.
