When does Disney usually announce specials/deals? - The DIS Discussion Forums

We are looking at planning a trip for late May/early June. When does Disney usually announce any deals or specials they may be planning? I am a teacher and my husband is finishing up grad school (going to celebrate) so a deal REALLY helps. I know they do not always offer stuff but fingers crossed

No specific dates, but after the booking period for any current promotion expires.

On the resorts board here there is a sub board for codes and rates, check there often, if anything comes out there will be posts about it. You can also sub to threads looking for deals for whatever month you need. Mousesavers.com newsletter and getting a disney visa rewards card also will provide you with deals in emails.

I called them and started pricing packages. 2 days later I got a pin code e-mail :

Save 20%* at Disney Value Resorts,
30%* at Disney Moderate Resorts
or 40%* at Disney Deluxe Resorts

For stays most nights 1/3–1/6/10,
1/10–1/14/10, 1/18–2/11/10,
2/15–3/27/10, 4/11–7/1/10, 7/5–10/7/10, 10/11–11/23/10 and 11/28–12/16/10.

If you are a teacher, you may well want to ask about current offers at the Swan or Dolphin resort with the teacher discount. Those are put out fairly early and book up. You can get a deluxe resort inthe heart of WDW for like $150 per night!

Otherwise as others have said, it varies quite a bit based on how booked the resorts are ona given date. Often they follow a pattern of having a new discount once a current offer expires.
