Dinner at Le Cellier - How long to expect?
Any idea how long to expect dinner to take at Le Cellier? We have an ADR for 6:05pm and I was wondering if there was even a remote possibility we could be done in time to try to get to DHS for the 2nd showing of Fantasmic at 8:00pm.
I know, I'm probably crazy for even considering it! We were planning to skip Fantasmic this trip, but now that they've added a couple of extra shows, I'm just trying to see if we could work it in somehow. But, I sure don't want to give up this ADR! My only other choice would be the following day, but we have a 6:00 reservation at Garden Grill and would probably be just as pressed for time. Plus, it's Thanksgiving so I'm expecting things to be even busier! |

I think dinner would have to take only 30 minutes if you wanted to make it in time. Maybe if you arrive at your ADR early and order everything you want right away then possibly, but people line up so early for Fantasmic now, so I am not sure it would work.

It can be done, we just did this on Sunday. We knew going in that we'd have to eat quickly, and no dessert - and we told our server that we were trying to make Holiday Wishes (from the beach t Poly) at 9:30pm. Our ADR was for 7:25 but we weren't even seated until 7:45. We all just had an entree - no apps or desserts - and we were out of there at 9pm. We didn't feel rushed at all, since we only had our entrees to eat. Til we got to the front of Epcot & on the monorail to Poly, we got there at 9:20, with 10 min. to spare.
Now if you want a 3 or 5-course meal & eat at a leisurley pace I doubt you can do this. I'd also suggest getting there & checking in as early as you can. We checked in at 7:15 for a 7:25 ADR & still waited 20 min. after our ADR time. There were a lot of people waiting as well. You're right by the International Gateway at Le Cellier - hop on the boat to DHS. Good luck!

We had ressies for 6:30, and we waited OVER an hour to be seated. Sadly, we missed Illuminations. I was very bummed. Next trip, I'm making sure there is NO way we miss them again. On the flip side, it was one of the best meals of the trip!

I would say that you are taking a big risk because Le Cellier is one of the longest waits in EPCOT. The last time we were there we waited over 30 minutes for ADR. The wait is well worth it but catching the bus on time, etc would be risky, even if you caught a cab!

We had a 6:00 p.m. ADR at Le Cellier and had to wait 45 minutes before we were even seated. Based on our experience, I'd say you are cutting it way too close.

Late entrance to Fantasmic?
Does anyone know if they will let you enter right at the show start time or shortly after (if they aren't full)? I know if we try this we'll be cutting it close. We are used to walking very fast to try to get somewhere though, so we might give it a shot!

We have ate at Le Cellier several times and it has taken at least an hour and a half. Go early see if they can get you in and then take the boat over from the international gateway. good luck but if you could go another night I would go then

We'll just have to see how it goes! We were planning on having to miss it this trip anyway, so if we don't make it that's OK. The only other night we could try to see it is the next night, which is Thanksgiving. But, our ADR's are just as bad for trying to make it there by 8:00pm. We have a 6:00 ADR for Garden Grill that night. So it's not going to be any better! Oh well!

First it is thanksgiving week...Fantasmic will be packed.Second, Le Cellier is one of those places that very often seats PAST adr time. I hada 405 pm there and was not seated till 445p.I wouldn't count on it.It is possible but not probable

Check-in early for your meal and it should help to get you to Fantasmic on time. Do any restroom stops now while you are waiting to be seated.
Also, look at the menu ahead of time and have all your choices ready when asked. Cut the chit chat at this meal and just eat. Tell the waiter what you are trying to do and hopefully he/she will help it along and be very prompt with their service. Have the tip ready if doing cash for it. If you're on the dining plan consider getting dessert to go and tell the waiter ahead of time. You may be able to eat it pre show at fantasmic or back in your room. |
