Question about AP and Give a day get a Disney day promo

I know I saw a thread about this, but can't find it, so sorry for a repeat question. If our family participates in the Give a Day, get a Disney Day promotion next year are we as annual passholders only entitled to the alternative offerings of the fastpasses, hat and pins or the option to donate our ticket, or can we take the one day ticket and use it toward the renewal of our passes? We're happy with whatever the option is, but I'm just trying to do some planning. Thanks in advance!

I just got my Mickey Monitor yesterday. It's at home, but the options I recall were the special fastpasses for a group (6 total, I believe), a pin, and donation of a one day pass to an organization WDW chooses. A one day ticket to use toward a renewal was not an option that I remember. I'm sure that if you go to the Passholder's web page, they'll have it listed out.

The following is from the FAQs on information about the Give a Day, Get a Day, program:

26. May I upgrade my free one day ticket to an Annual Pass or multi-day ticket?

Answer- Yes, you may upgrade the free ticket to another ticket type of greater value. However, the Guest is responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by the Guest.

This actually has me a little confused, so may inquire of the Master (also known as Cheshire Figment):

When upgrading the free one day ticket, what amount of credit are you given for the one day ticket? For example, say a one-day ticket costs $100, and I want to use my free one-day ticket to upgrade to a five day ticket, which costs $200. Would I get a discount of $100 dollars (one one-day ticket) or $40 (the cost of one day of the $200 five-day ticket) off of the five-day ticket price?

I hope I made this clear - and I hope you can help! TIA

You are given credit for the current gate value of the one day ticket, which is $79 adult/$68 Child.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #6, you can get a lot more information about upgrades. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

If I have a valid multi-day ticket or Annual Pass or Passport , is there anything else that I can receive?

Guests who present a valid multi-day ticket or Annual Pass or Passport may choose from one of the following three options instead of receiving the free 1-day, 1-park ticket:

◦Disney's Special FASTPASS® cards for certain attractions for you and up to 5 additional members of your party.†
◦A collectible Ear Hat figurine with exclusive trading pins‡
◦Donate your free ticket to a non-profit organization designated by Disney Parks.

†Participating attractions are subject to change. Valid theme park admission required. The number of Special FASTPASS® Cards is limited and may not be available after 11 a.m. All Guests in your party must be present to receive the Special FASTPASS® Cards.
‡ Available at select locations.

Valid ID and a valid Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® multi-day ticket, Seasonal Pass or Annual Pass or Passport along with the voucher will be required at the time of redemption. No cash refunds or credits will be provided to Passholders or multi-day ticket holders who participate in the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day." program and choose not to redeem their certificate for admission or exchange it for a redemption alternative.

My site (non-profit) has just been approved by the Hands On Network to be a part of this promotion. I am very exited! Since I love Disney everyone at work new I would be all over this and a big part of my job is working with volunteers and I love my job. So for me this is

what you should do, once you have the voucher in hand, if they won't use it to renew your AP, is let your AP expire, THEN use it as a credit.

I will be doing that, and several friends I know will too.

What about this scenario:
we are planning a split stay
7 day free dining w/ a 10 day tix @ POR (booked bounceback)
4/3 Deal at POLY (if this offer comes out) but we would need to buy a 1 day tix to qualify for this deal.

Here is the question could I use the voucher instead of buying a one day tix?

No. A package with room and dining must include at least a one day ticket purchase.

Thanks, I figured it would be too good to be true, but a gal's pocketbook could hope! I so want to finagle a way to stay at my dream resort the Poly. Every year I do this to myself and every year it comes down to the pocketbook, the POLY is just that a dream for us...ahk don't feel sorry for me I get to do Disney at POR!!! for 2 weeks
but every year I think, we could do this...
