What does everyone think of the Boardwalk Resort?

We are headed there soon and I am interested in hearing opinions.

Love it! Great location, beautiful grounds and rooms. I stayed there last month and will go back at some point in the future.

How long is the walk to Epcot or the Studios?

BWV has been our home resort since 1999, love it! There's always something to see and do on the boardwalk, especially at night. The pool side bar is a big favorite for DW & me. The walk to Epcot is about 10 minutes, DHS about 15-20 depending on how fast you walk. You can also take the Friendship boats to both parks. Hppe this helps.

We LOVE the Boardwalk resort.... It's very charming and we love being so close to both Epcot and Hollywood studios.

And wonderfully decorated for Xmas; it is always on my list of "go-sees" for Xmas decorations. I also love to sit out on the Boardwalk and having an ice cream cone.

When I am at home, weeks later, and it has just snowed and I am shoveling out my driveway, I just think about the time in December when I was sitting outside on the Boardwalk eating an ice cream cone in shorts and a t-shirt.

We love it. Location location location! We've stayed there the past 2 times we've been and it's been perfect. We were lucky to stay concierge and it was wonderful!
Really can't say enough great things about it. The rooms are nicely done and are bright and airy.
some photos to get you excited.

Stayed 10 days in a one bedroom villa in 2003, then stayed in the SAME room Sept. 2009! Loved every minute of it. It seems to me to be very quiet, despite the hustle and bustle below....... We have toyed around with the idea of staying at the beach club or even the polynesian, but we always come back to the boardwalk with no regrets!

Love BW. My only complaint is about the loooong hallways. I have a similar complaint about WL, FWIW. Otherwise, it gets a from me.

Yes, the hallways are long. But...if you were at a moderate or value resort, your walk to your room could be just as long, if not longer. For some reason, guests seem to get cranky with those long halls but not the long walk outside at other resorts. I've been about as far from the elevators as you can get at BWV..way at the end of the hallway, by The Attic. But, at least it was ACed in there...rather than out in the humidity or rain.

All I can say is this...back in 01, we went over to BW to check it out. My dh said that he would buy DVC at BW but nowhere else!!! And he isn't even a huge WDW fan. Well, within 2 months we were proud BWV DVC owners. He will go to WDW but only if he can stay at BWV. So, yes, we love it there. There is truly no place like 'home'!!!

See, this is a different strokes thing. I prefer an outside walk TBH, and the scenery it offers. The Poly is a fave of mine. Also, the A/C in the hallways always seems positively bone-chilling, so doing the long walk back tends to feel even longer to me. That said, I still do love the resort.
