Tell me how much DS4 will love VWL....

May will be our first time at VWL, and DH and I and my parents are very excited about it. I've read that WL is the overall kids' favorite resort, but why? DS4 is ticked that we're not staying at BWV again with that creepy clown slide

What are the big things that make WL kids' favorite?

Well, the pool area is really nice - no creepy clowns there! The boat ride access to the MK is terrific, and there are boat rentals right on the property. Plus the lobby is just so cool.

My 4 year old niece fell in love with the foot bridge over the creek in the lobby. She had to walk over it back and forth several times every time we walked through the lobby to head to the boat landing.

She loved the boat to MK, too.

The Geyser!!! The rabbits, the totem poles in the lobby. I haven't stayed there but we explored it when we went to WCC and the my boys were fasicnated by the geyser and the rabbits and it all over there!

They also have a list of hidden mickeys which are fun to go looking for. The snack bar used to be a favorite as well. My grandson enjoyed the slide as well.

Our DD 4 also loved the bridge over the "creek" in the lobby! We spent more time in the VWL lobbies than we've ever spent in a lobby before
The pool, the boatride to MK and a fun meal at Whispering Canyon Cafe were all things she seemed to enjoy as well. We had a great time and look forward to our next stay there. Have fun!

You can rent bikes or walk over to Ft Wilderness on the nature trail and we spotted dear. At Ft Wilderness they have a new "aquatic playground" which is AWESOME for little ones. It's like a super duper splash pad. My DS thought it was amazing.

Also the playground is right on the beach under some trees, next to lounge chairs. Perfect for both parents and kiddos.

Our DD LOVED seeing all the animals on the pathways. We rented a surrey bike and they both liked that. I have to say mine have been excited to explore all the resorts we have tried so far!!

My son, when he was 2-4 yrs. old - loved the pool at the Villas. The steps were great for him to play on when he was still afraid of the water and he always loved the areas of the pool with "bubbles". DH would take my older kids to the main pool, but DS always wanted to stay at the villas pool. He was also in to trains one time we went and loved looking at the train in the lobby of the villas. We haven't stayed at our home resort in a while - I sure do miss it!

Can you play there if you aren't a DVC member or is that considered pool hopping and a no-no?

(This sure would be easier if I could convince DH to buy into DVC!)

Not too sure about that but a trip over to Fort Wilderness is a must for us every trip. We have rented bikes and gone over for the afternoon, or we make an evening trip over on the boat and stay for the campfire and movie.

My kids love VWL, and we have stayed at several DVC resorts. They love the pool, the boat to MK, and just exploring the lobby and resort. We actually prefer the pool at the villas, it's usually quieter and less crowded.
When we've been there they have had afternoon crafts at the Cub's Den, my kids always loved that when they were younger. They've also enjoyed the pool games at the main pool.

Have a wonderful trip, you'll love it!

Stayed at VWL last March with our two nieces (4 and 7). They absolutely loved it.

The two pools so close together was great. They loved the slide and activity at the main pool. They loved playing with their cousins at the DVC pool. Movies on the beach and playing tether ball was also a favourite. Watching the Water parade on the beach while eating ice cream. The lobby and all the various common areas at the villas. Sitting on the balcony watching the deer and bunnies outside.

They would be so tired coming home from the parks on the boat but as soon as the doors opened to the villas they had a new spring in their steps and were happy again.

I'm pretty sure that would be considered pool hopping. Which is funny because WL people used to blast the campers for crashing their pool and now I think they have the coolest kids spot on property (except for SAB)
ETA and of course Samawati Springs at Kidani but the FT Wilderness area is AMAZING for little ones.

DD almost 4 loved the VWL. The cubs den has open house every afternoon and we went to play and make crafts. We rented a surry bike and rode on the path to Fort Wilderness and saw deer in the woods. She also liked the pool near the villas.
