Can you explain the different Cricut machines to me? I am not much of a scrapbooker- but I make crafts. And have 4 kids in school right now and would love to be able to help out with in class activities. I also make cards.

It seems like something I would use. Any tips?

The Expression is a bigger machine and can cut paper up to 12x24". You can make bigger words, letters and other shapes than with the original cricut machine. I LOVE my Expression for making cards, banners, and other crafts. It is great for bulletin boards for schools, etc. If you want to make big letters and use 12x12 paper without having to cut it down to size first, I recommend the bigger machine (Expression).

Great! Thanks that's what I needed to know! Thanks for posting I've been watching them at Michael's waiting for the sale miracle with no luck. I keep seeing the smaller one with discounts but not the expression. I love the 12x12 capability.

Oh what to buy! It'll be my gift to me this holiday.

I'd get the machine with the two standard carts for $234.99. Then I'd start making a list of the other cartridges I wanted and wait for them to go on sale! M's will have carts on sale for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, so you can probably pick some up then.

Per the "rumored" WM ad, they are going to have the Expression for $188 and the carts for $30.

This may very well be the one gift I ask for this Christmas!
