Checking in for a family member

Hello,

I tried to find this on search but couldn't. Has anyone ever checked in for a family member? By check-in I basically mean get their key to the world cards, we don't care about the room being ready. We're arriving in the morning and my sister-in-law's flight doesn't get in until 2 PM. We're in separate rooms and our reservations are linked under a grand gathering. We were just wondering if we were allowed to check in for them when we check in so that we have everything ready to go when they arrive and we can go straight to a park. We don't mind using our credit card for incidentals for their room if that makes a difference, we can just settle up later. We're staying at CSR. Thanks.

Not sure. I think the rule is you can get keys for everyone on your reservation.

I've heard you can only do it if you are on her reservation. Since you have a separate one I don't think you can.

We have been able to check in both parties when both rooms are under the same name, not just linked as part of the same reservation. When we have travelled under one reservation, but different names on each room, we each had to check in seperately.

This was a few years ago but I was able to check in for my in-laws. My husband and I had already been there for almost a week and on the day the in-laws arrived, I just went down to the front desk right after 11:00 (when I knew they wouldn't be as busy) and asked if I could get the in-laws' information and room keys. Each of our reservations was in a separate name and we were not a grand gathering since it was only five people.

I suggest you don't expect to be able to do it, check with the front desk on the day your sister-in-law is arriving and if it happens, wonderful.

They Want ID

My SIL usually travels with us under a seperate reservation. We always arrive on the same day (together), but I am the designated check-in person. She always needs to be there to show a ID for verification. A valid ID for one of the names in your party is required. So the answer no....
