Is DME An Option? Or Van Service?

Hi,

We're using DME to go from MCO to WDW; however, our last night in Orlando we're actually staying at the Orlando Hyatt Airport hotel and then flying out the next morning (so we can have the entire last day in the parks, etc.) --- if you're flight isn't leaving until after your last day at WDW, can you request a late DME departure time (for example, 5PM)? Or do you have to use a car service?

And if you do have to use a car service, what service would you recommend for a family of 6? We would need 1 booster seat and 2 car seats...

Thanks for your help!

- Chris

Yes, you can. Easiest way is to find a flight that leaves as late as possible from MCO. They will put you on the bus 3 hours before hand.

I did what you are doing last trip. We were staying off site the last two nights, so I scheduled ME for back to the airport on our check out day. I took ME to the airport, picked up the rental car and drive right back to WDW. We loaded up our car and headed off site.

You are entitled to a trip to WDW and a trip to MCO.

Would you be able to write out the process that you used? And did you tell them that you weren't checking in, checking luggage, etc?

Thanks!

As the PP stated, you are entitled to one trip to and from the airport.

You need to reserve ME for each trip. They pick you up at your resort three hours before a flight.

You go to your airline website and pick a flight the night before that fits your timing when you want to get to the airport plus three hours. That determines what time you will be picked up at your resort. For instance, if you want to get to the airport around 7 pm, you will need to choose a flight that leaves at 10:00 pm. Then you give that information to ME to reserve seats on the bus.

You will need to bring the bags on the bus with you. The bus driver should be tipped for handling your bags. There will be sky caps there at the curb; you can ask them if they can take you and all your bags to the Hyatt.

Just go to any airline site, find a flight that leaves very late, as long it's domestic. Let's say you want to leave your resort and head back to MCO on that last day, around 6pm. Find a flight that leaves, for anywhere in the US, around 9pm.
Or, you can make your reservations for the return when you get to WDW...just tell them that you are not flying out that day, but staying at the airport. I did that when I needed to get back to the airport to rent a car. THe person I got was very helpful and was able to get me a DME return time that worked very well with the timing of my rental car pickup.

Perfect. Thanks for you for your help! I was concerned about the automatic check-in/baggage handling that DME does for you, and wasn't sure how that worked if we actually weren't on the flight we told them

Thanks again.
