Poly Garden View is a view of...?

So what exactly is the view in the "Poly Garden View?" Is it just clever language for "dumpster" or "parking lot," or is it an actual garden view?

Thanks!!

Probably some of the best views you can get

Yes, some Longhouses do have views that face the parking lots but there is so much foilage and greenery you can hardly tell!

Most views at the Poly are very peaceful. If you go to http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/ you can see many pix of the views for each Longhouse and tons of other information!! WE LOVE THE POLY!!

Ohh awesome. I'm getting so excited! The Poly is so beautiful and I've wanted to stay there for *years* now... so next year is our chance.

I'm so glad to hear the "garden views" aren't awful views. We're not lucky with room requests, so I'm just hoping that we don't get "dumpster view" LOL

The foliage and landscaping are truly beautiful and, from what I could tell, most garden view rooms look out upon that beauty. But please know your garden view could also be of a big ol' tree. Ours was. I loved the privacy it gave us, but it wasn't exactly a lush view.

Have fun planning your trip!!

We stayed in a garden view room (Tokelau) this past June. We were on the second floor and our view was great! We were directly in front of the Hawaii building, to the left was the quiet pool, and to the right, you could see grass, a lake, and if you leaned over the balcony, you could see fireworks. It was an excellent location. There were plenty of lush foliage and trees.

We also stayed in Tokelau this past March and had lovely views of their beautiful landscaping. It didnt appear that there were too many bad views as we walked around the property. I loved the Poly and miss it

Just be warned:

Three years ago, I requested Samoa. We got it. Imagine my disappointment to realize that our view was facing the quiet pool and looking out on a work area where landscaping equipment was stored. I was pretty disappointed, but then, I'd asked for such that building, so I felt I couldn't complain.

In Tokelau, once we had a view of the quiet pool, and then another year we had a room with a side view of the lagoon. We watched the Electric Light Parade from the balcony.

All were garden views.

This happened to us recently. We requested Tahiti with a balcony, and got it. Problem was, when we walked out onto our balcony, there was a huge tree that was immediately in front of the balcony. I mean barely two feet away from it - we almost hit the leaves while standing out there. We called the front desk, and they moved us right away - three doors down, so we still got our request, Tahiti with balcony . Once we had third floor Raratonga, we LOVED that - nice view of the quiet pool. Another time we had Aotearoa third floor facing the monorail - we didn't like that as much, but it was still a nice view with lots of greenery. We love having the balcony more than anything, so we always request one.

We stayed in Fiji and our GV was of the marina. I totally loved it! We were close to GCH and could also see the volcano from the pool. We did have a 1st floor room.

Yep, same room! How funny is that? On the CR thread, I discovered that another poster and I had stayed in the same room there, too!

We Disers stick together, huh??!!
