There seems to be so many ways to do this. How does yours work?

At my old job we all picked names and set a date for a dinner out sometime before Christmas. At three different times before the dinner you were supposed to leave your Secret person little gifts (pens, a $5 gft card, lotion, etc). The best part of this was the "delivery" of the gifts because you had to make it so the person didn't know who left it. Then at the dinner you exchanged the big gift (like $20 or $25) after everyone guesses who has who. It was really a lot of fun.

At my new job we picked names and at a party before Christmas we are going to exchange gifts. It is supposed to be Secret but I think a lot of people have told each other already!

Secret Santa rules...

Pick name from a hat.

Buy 2 gifts worth approx $5 and one gift worth approx $15.

First day of Secret Santa, you have to get one of the $5 gifts to the recipient without him/her seeing.

Second day..same as first.

Third day, all participants pick a number out of a hat. You all join in one room with your $15 gift. Starting with the person who picked #1, you go to the front of the room (middle of the circle..anywhere everyone can see you) and say your guess of who your secret santa is. If the # 1 person got it right or wrong, it doesnt matter, they get the $15 dollar present from their secret santa. The # 2 person goes next. He/she guesses. They then get their $15 gift from their secret santa. If #2 guessed right, they have the option to "swap" gifts with #1 or keep their own. If they got the secret santa wrong, they cant swap. #3 goes, gets their $15 present from their secret santa...If #3 guessed right, they have the option to "swap" gifts with #1 or #2 or keep their own. If they got the secret santa wrong, they cant swap. Etc...etc...etc...

Once everyone has finished, if the #1 person got their santa right, they have the option to choose any gift out there.

And thats my rules!!!
