Food in HRH room?

I have seen a couple of post suggesting to stop at a store for food on way from airport to hotel. Are people just buying dry goods items or is there away to keep food cold in the room?

we were there in 06, mini bar in the room - we asked hotel to empty mini bar, as we had no intention of using it - filled with our stuff.

quite a few peeps buy the $4 styrofoam chest to use to keep items cold.

fill it with ice and place it in your bathtub while you are in the park.
cold drinks when you return.

the mini bar fridge doesn't keep things cold enough for me.

i didn't read that thread yet but do know first hand that the mini bar is checked daily.
i have been in the room when it has been done.

they have a check list when they check the bar.
if anything is missing, the guest is charged for those items.

i always turn down the key to the mini bar.
that way, i know there would never be a charge to my account.
